Roy Cropper (David Neilson) has been through a hell of an ordeal this year in Coronation Street, wrongly accused of murdering teenager Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) and then almost being murdered by her dad in prison.
He’s now free from behind bars but not free from trauma as a gang of youths torment him over the murder allegations.
After a horrible confrontation with the yobs, Roy suffers a massive heart attack and is rushed to hospital, with another shock to follow for his loved ones.
Meanwhile, in other nasty teen news, Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) gets unsettling news about the imminent release of horrible bully Mason.
And Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) rushes to attend a session with the cult alongside Leanne (Jane Danson).
Can she find a way into the Institute to try and save her sister?
Monday July 8
As Roy heads out of the cafe to take some homemade soup to Shona he is confronted by a gang of yobs calling him names and he stumbles to the floor. Carla rushes to his aid but it is clear he is in pain.
When Shona admits she was never ill Roy sends her and Evelyn packing. Shona is telling Nina what happened when an ambulance rounds the corner.
Nina and Shona rush into the cafe to find Roy being given CPR. In the hospital a visitor appears at Roy’s bedside.
When Maria receives a letter stating Mason’s scheduled release from prison, she is taken aback. Unaware that Gary is there with Sarah to provide his bank statements, she goes to the police station to ask some inquiries.
Maria demands to know what is going on as Gary exits the interview room. Will Gary tell the truth?
Leanne informs Nick that she will be taking care of Toyah for the day, but Toyah offers to accompany her when Rowan phones to invite her to the new recruit tasting session.
Leanne is thrilled to see Amy there as they get to the Chariot Square Hotel for the new recruits training.
Craig confides in Beth that he’s worried he’s made an enemy of Kit and tells her about the shoplifting incident with Gemma. In the factory, Betsy suggests to Carla she might like to employ her full time but Carla gives her short shrift and Betsy’s stung.
Wednesday July 10
Roy drifts in and out of consciousness whilst his visitor stays at his bedside before disappearing. When Roy tells Nina about his surprise visitor, she wonders if he is hallucinating…
