Sam Hall’s character on Emmerdale, Samson Dingle, was rumored to be close to death as his departure approached. However, the actor refuted this, stating that Samson is still very much alive and has the potential to make a comeback. There are now only two options: going to jail or escaping.

The second of the two possibilities is more likely because Samson has shown himself to be somewhat of a coward thus far (Esther, Craig, and now not up against Josh).

Many have attempted to persuade Samson to acknowledge his lies; Kerry has even become engaged in the attempt to ham-fistedly extract the truth about what really happened. Up till today, nobody had any success.

One person has the ability to break Samson, and that someone is Lydia (Karen Blick), whose uncanny sense sensed something wasn’t quite right with Samson’s version of events. Upon noticing Samson’s peculiar conduct, she began to worry that he would be spreading false information regarding the stabbing event involving Matty (Ash Palmisciano).

After she eventually gets the truth out of him, Lydia expects Samson to act morally and free Matty because she is a salt of the earth. But Sam (James Hooton) doesn’t. She has forgotten that she is a Dingle, and Dingles defend one another.

To choose the best course of action—that is, to get Samson out of dodge and spare him the hardships of confessing—the father and son organize a secret rendezvous. However, astute Lydia discovers their small secret meeting and interrupts it.

Samson finally listens to her pleas for him to behave morally, and as a result, he surprises everyone by going to the police station. This time, instead of accusing someone of harassing him, he comes clean about the stabbing. Lydia considers that one a success, but Sam despises her greatly now.

Moira (played by Natalie J Robb) is ecstatic about this unexpected development, but Sam is furious with Cain (played by Jeff Hordley) for ruining his family and even knocks out his brother.

Matty receives word again, and it appears that things will get better. However, he hasn’t yet arrived at the bright clearing; Robbo is still waiting for him when he returns to his cell.

Given everything, Samson’s confession might have been made a little too late.

When Cain comes to, he tries to stop Samson from doing a bunk, which causes tensions between the two to flare up once more.

Now that Samson is under a 24-hour flight risk watch, Moira and Amy are waiting on word. Is it too late, though?
