Fans will have to wait a little longer for Shemar Moore’s return to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as Malcolm, though, as CBS has just revealed that the eighth season of his primetime series S.W.A.T. has been renewed!

“SWAT IS COMING BACK! THOUGHT ABOUT MIRACLES The series actor and executive producer Moore remarked, “I am so proud of this show and the people and variables it has taken to make this show what it is and has become.” “I sincerely appreciate all of the global supporters, viewers, and cheerleaders for S.W.A.T.! S.W.A.T. will not stop shining due of this support alone! For me, this is still the ideal work. I adore my S.W.A.T. team, actors, writers, and producers; together, we have created a fantastic, entertaining, thought-provoking, and touching program that the entire world can enjoy. We are grateful to CBS and Sony for supporting S.W.A.T. and providing us with this chance to shine.

S.W.A.T., which debuted in 2017 and was based on the 1975 series, was originally terminated after six seasons. However, CBS abruptly decided to revive the program for a seventh season that consists of 13 fewer episodes. It has once again shown that it is not its last, despite what many had assumed!

“Here at CBS, we always ‘stay liquid’ and love a good dramatic twist, especially when it leads to an eighth season of S.W.A.T.!,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “The show continues to resonate with viewers thanks to our talented cast led by Shemar Moore and our amazing writers and producers who keep the show relevant and action-packed. We’re very pleased to renew it again and incredibly grateful to our partners at SONY, CBS Studios, and Shemar for working so closely with us to bring it back for next season.”

Fans of S.W.A.T. will be happy to hear this news, but others may be disappointed because Moore hinted in a recent interview that he would return to Y&R once his primetime series ended. Nevertheless, he managed to make sporadic visits to Y&R while working on S.W.A.T., so who knows if Malcolm may ever make an appearance in Genoa City!?
