When a beloved former daytime performer makes an appearance on a popular primetime show, like Ted King, a veteran of soap operas who has been cast in a new episode of BLUE BLOODS, it’s always entertaining!

On April 7, King made his first social media hint that he was in Brooklyn working on a new role. “Going back to my origins,” he tweeted via X. “Back in NYC, love shooting.”

King kept the project under wraps at first, but in a follow-up article on April 10, he provided additional information. He posted a posed picture of Selleck, Greg Jbara, Robert Clohessy, and Abigail Hawk from the set of BLUE BLOODS for CBS, saying, “A delightful week spent in NY with Mr. Tom Selleck and the cast and crew.”

King has not stopped praising the cast of the police procedural drama on Instagram. The cast is currently in its 14th and final season. Fantastic time filming BLUE BLOODS in New York. Good ensemble and crew,” King acknowledged. “I now see why the show has lasted for such a long time. Glad to have witnessed their chemistry in person. It was a delight to work with Tom Selleck and to see Greg Jbara once more.

Together, the actor and Jbara produced the highly regarded feature film Oppenheimer. In fact, when the film was named the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture of 2023, they were both honored with a Screen Actors Guild Award in February. (In the historical drama thriller, King played Senator Bob Bartlett and Jbara Chairman Magnuson.)

When King got his big break and was hired as Danny Roberts on LOVING in 1995, he fell in love with New York and carried the role over to its spin-off, THE CITY. Following her success in late 1990s primetime series like as CHARMED and TIMECOP, King made a successful comeback to daytime television in 2002, where she played twins Luis and Lorenzo Alcazar on GENERAL HOSPITAL. He switched to ONE LIFE TO LIVE in 2011 and spent a year there as Tomas Delgado. His most recent soap opera appearance was in 2021 on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, where he played Finn’s father, Jack Finnegan. For this role, he won the 2022 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Performer.

The CBS premiere date for King’s BLUE BLOODS episode is unknown at this time, so stay tuned to Soaps In Depth for more information!
