Soap fans have been dealing with chaos due to the UEFA European Football Championship in recent weeks, and next week’s tournament is expected to further disrupt schedules.

The UEFA European Football Championship is scheduled for next week, which means there will be more disruptions to the ITV soap schedule. Fans are not happy about the additional cancellations.

Fans of soap operas were already displeased when Coronation Street and Emmerdale were canceled for the football, and now they’re expecting more changes to the schedule.

While Emmerdale manages to hang on to three episodes next week, including its regular Thursday hour-long special, EastEnders has found a temporary home on BBC Two, continuing at the familiar 7.30pm slot.

However, fans won’t be able to get their fix on Tuesday and Wednesday (June 25 and June 26) due to the Dales’ noticeable absence. Fans of Coronation Street will have to exercise even more patience as the program will only be on for two episodes the following week.

With no planned visit to Weatherfield on Wednesday, June 26, soap fans can expect an especially quiet day. Nonetheless, Corrie will air Monday through Friday (June 28) at 8 p.m. as usual, according to the Mirror.

Devoted viewers have expressed their vexation on platforms like Reddit, lamenting the altered timetable. “So that’s 2 episodes they owe us so far (first week of Euros and now this ahead)”, one fan remarked, tallying up the missed Coronation Street episodes.

They expressed their frustration, saying: “As they short-changed us by 30 minutes in the super soap week and 2 episodes so far in Euros… that’s 2 and a half hours, so effectively almost an entire week’s worth of episodes. Not fair.”

Due to the Euros 2024, the television schedules have undergone significant changes with other programmes such as Loose Women and BBC’s The Repair Shop also recently cancelled. The high-profile football tournament is set to climax its final round on July 14, 2024 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.

Emmerdale fans should brace themselves for additional drama the following week as Belle Dingle’s story of coercive control takes an unexpected turn. Once Tom King learns of his wife’s covert abortion, he will be in danger.

Viewers are left wondering who could finally bring about justice as Belle recently made the decision to terminate her pregnancy despite her partner’s continued physical and emotional abuse.

Joel Deering, meanwhile, is in danger of being exposed in Corrie for his numerous immoral deeds, including the alleged murder of Lauren Bolton. Veteran Corrie actor Steve MacDonald finds out a startling truth about Tracy Barlow that breaks his heart.

Fans of EastEnders are anticipating the revelation of a big secret, so Walford’s newest member might find themselves in the spotlight earlier than anticipated.
