Jason Cook hasn’t appeared in a daytime show in a while, but he’s still kept busy working in a variety of capacities, such as directing, writing, and producing. It’s a success worth celebrating, just like the significant accomplishment he’s currently acknowledging.

Happy Birthday, Jason Cook

And the reason for that is that this talented multi-hyphenate turns 43 today. He was born on September 13, 1980, in Camden, New Jersey. Cook once dreamed of becoming a pianist. His interest in acting, however, began to grow in high school after he was unexpectedly cast in the theater department’s Whodunnit production.

Shawn-Douglas Brady played his first professional role on Days of our Lives. Fans of the soap opera liked Cook, especially when he was paired with Kirsten Storms’ Belle Black.

After a seven-year run, Cook made the decision to leave DAYS, at which point he fully committed to his behind-the-scenes work, which included producing the feature-length documentary Numb to Life.

As Matt Hunter, M.D., a character on ABC’s General Hospital, Cook consented to return to daytime in April 2008. After four years in the role, he left it and resumed his work as a cameraman. Furthermore, in 2015, he briefly returned to DAYS.

The Son of an Afghan Farmer and Dark Awakening are just a couple of the movies and television shows that Cook has appeared in as an actor. He has hosted three Miss World pageants in addition to writing, directing, and producing a large number of movies, such as The Making of Triassic Park, Social Security Guard, and School Spirit. As well as directing music videos, he has published works of young adult fiction.

Happy birthday to Jason Cook and many more, from all of us at Soap Hub.
