Chris Gascoyne, a star of Coronation Street, is about to depart the Weatherfield cobbles, and one co-star hopes to work with him one last time.

Bill Fellows, who portrays Stu Carpenter on the ITV soap opera Coronation Street, has commented on Chris Gascoyne’s departure.

Chris, who has played Peter Barlow since 2000, anticipates quitting the cobbles in the near future.

Although the long-running role will be lost to fans, it was reported in July of this year that the actor’s exit isn’t final.

Actor Bill expressed his opinions on Chris’ protracted absence from the soap opera and that he hoped to collaborate with him before he went.

The soap star was asked who he would want to see film sequences for the program while speaking to The Mirror.

“Chris Gascoyne is a very good friend of mine with whom I’ve had very little contact,” he declared.

“But everyone is so good and so nice,” I said, “but unfortunately he is leaving, it’s sad but hopefully I will have a few little things with him [before he goes].”

Bill also mentioned how much he enjoys working with actor William Roache, who portrays the well-known Ken Barlow.

Chris appears to still be filming even if the exact date of his exit from the show is still unknown.

Viewers have seen the actor leave the show multiple times since he arrived more than 20 years ago.

However, as the husband of Underworld leader Carla Connor (Alison King), he has remained a constant fixture on the cobblestones since 2016.

Although the plot underlying his departure is being kept a secret, it might be connected to Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) impending demise.

Since Chris will be performing in panto later this year, he already has work lined up for the time after Coronation Street.

The All New Adventures of Peter Pan will include the soap opera star in St. Albans, according to a statement from the theater.

Dom Aldworth, Head of Brand Marketing at Slingo, said Chris had to be careful about the jobs he accepts after the show since they might affect his return.

Contrary to more youth-oriented operas like Hollyoaks, which have a fan base that closely follows the cast on social media, Coronation Street draws an older audience, he told Daily Star.

This means that, despite his experience, Gascoyne will need to plan out his future steps carefully if he wants to further his career and remain relevant in the field.
