In EastEnders, Aaron Monroe was nothing like his polite, loving father Harvey.

Aaron’s racist beliefs and affiliation with a far-right group actually contributed to his current troubles, since he planned to blow up a mosque.

He was undoubtedly problematic! What then was his story?

Aaron’s arrival in Albert Square

Aaron seemed like a young man who loved to have fun and was ambitious when he first arrived. Tiffany Butcher-Baker noticed him, and they started dating.

However, Aaron’s jovial exterior belied a darker side, and it became evident when he showed up for a date with Tiff sporting bruising on his knuckles that he wasn’t telling the truth.

Aaron was, as it turned out, closely associated with a far-right group. He also required his father to provide him with an explanation for the night he attacked a man.

Harvey was incensed when he learned that Aaron had shattered the victim’s ribs and maybe left them blind.

However, he consented to provide Aaron with the alibi only if Aaron quit the group and moved on with his life.

Aaron accepted, but he didn’t plan on following through on his pledge.

Plotting an attack

The arrival of Aaron’s buddies in Walford shocked some of the locals. Then, when Aaron set up a savage attack on Keegan Baker, things took an even darker turn. Keegan was nearly killed by his vicious pals’ beatings as Aaron was watching from the shadows.

However, they weren’t done yet.

In Albert Square, there was a bomb

On New Year’s Eve, Aaron and his friend Neil intended to plant a bomb inside the Argee Bhajee, which was being transformed into a mosque.

Aaron became hesitant when his sister Dana suggested that they visit The Albert, which is located close to the mosque, to ring in the new year. Following an altercation with Harvey, Aaron refrained from detonating the device.

Harvey intervened as Neil and Aaron squabbled over who should manage the company. After telling the police everything, he went to the police, and Aaron was placed in jail pending trial.

Harvey remained tough even when he begged his father not to sign the witness statement since he was being beaten up inside.

Back again

A few months later, Neil appeared, yelling at Harvey and ordering him to bring a phone to Aaron’s cell, with the implication that it was to detonate another bomb. However, Harvey showed up once more and refused to give him the phone.

Aaron was stabbed in prison in retaliation, which made Harvey feel bad even though he knew he had done the right thing. After surviving, Aaron was moved to a prison near Newcastle.

Who played Aaron Monroe?

Charlie Wernham played Aaron.

What else has Charlie Wernham been in?

He made a comeback to the program in 2022 after playing Mitchell in the Bad Education film.
