Paul’s exit is coming soon

In 2024, who will be departing Coronation Street? We know that Paul Foreman’s time is running down, therefore at least one tragic death is imminent. Is anyone else, though, off?

What about newbies and returnees? Actress Gemma Merna of Hollyoaks has disclosed that she will soon be appearing on the cobbles. Who is she playing now?

Now that it’s known, Nicky Wheatley will also be making a comeback to the cobbles. But what will draw her back?

Here is what we currently know about the several events taking place this year.

Who’s leaving Coronation Street in 2024?

Paul Foreman

Paul Foreman received the devastating news that he had motor neurone disease in 2023. Paul was devastated to learn that his hand injury required more testing and that he had an incurable condition.

In order to investigate the difficulties Paul may encounter in adjusting to this heartbreaking news, Coronation Street is collaborating with the MND Association. Actor Peter Ash, who plays Paul, has shared details about his plot.

MND is a brain and spinal cord illness that is deadly and advances quickly. It causes muscles to cease contracting by attacking the nerves that regulate movement. Although victims are imprisoned within their bodies, their senses are typically unaffected. Eighty percent of MND patients will eventually lose their voice, and they will eventually be unable to breathe, move, or speak.

Unfortunately, a third of those diagnosed with the illness pass away within a year because there is no known cure. After diagnosis, more than half barely survive for two years.

Paul has already lost the ability to use his legs and needed a wheelchair; the news that he only has six months to live came as a shock due to a chronic cough. After hearing that information, Paul chose to take his own life at the appropriate moment rather than give up total control.

As the disease worsens, Paul will eventually have to leave. Peter has expressed his regret about leaving, even though it is unknown when he will depart.

He remarked, “I’ll be sad to leave, but I’m also really happy to be a part of such a compelling plot.”

Beth Tinker

After 13 years on the soap opera, Lisa George, who starred as Beth Tinker, is leaving, as The Sun reported last year. Her last scenes were scheduled to premiere in the summer of 2024.

“Lisa has been on Corrie for a long time and she’s had some great storylines,” the source claimed.

With her comedic moments, she has solidified her place in the hearts of fans, but her tragic storylines, such as Sinead’s passing, have left viewers in tears.

“She feels that it’s time to move on and take on new challenges, even though she loves Corrie with all of her heart.”

Lisa appeared to refute rumors that she was leaving her position earlier in 2023 when speaking with The Mirror at the Pride of Britain Awards in October.

She said, “I have a new contract,” to them. Everyone was saying, “You’re leaving, you’re leaving,” which is extremely strange. When they asked me about my contract, I said that I was waiting. When they asked what I would like to do if I didn’t receive one, I replied that I would call the midwife. I just made a brief remark, and the next thing I knew, everyone was calling me and saying, “You’re leaving, you’re leaving.”

“No, what’s all this, no, I don’t know anything about it,” was my initial thought.

Lisa updated her social media with a new cast card image following the release of the most recent news. Then, in response to a comment lamenting her departure, she said, “I haven’t left; I’ll be back in tomorrow.”

It’s unclear if this indicated she isn’t leaving at all or that she hasn’t departed yet.

ITV has been contacted by Entertainment Daily for a statement.

Who else is leaving Coronation Street in 2024?

Simon Barlow

It was reported over Christmas that Alex Bain, who has been Simon Barlow’s actor for fifteen years, had left the ITV serial opera.

Since he was seven years old, the 22-year-old actor has been a part of the ITV serial opera. He is anticipated to leave with a dramatic plot, though, this summer.

“Alex is sad to be leaving Coronation Street because it really is like a family,” an insider allegedly told The Sun. However, he understands that it’s time to move on.

“He’s very excited about the future and other opportunities,” they continued.

ED! has contacted ITV for comment.

Fans have demanded when he does go, Simon should be recast and return in 2025.

Harvey Gaskell

Will Mellor has been portraying the evil Harvey Gaskell, pulling strings from behind bars, once more.

It was Adam’s fault that after visiting Harvey and coming to an agreement to get rid of Damon, he was welcomed back into the lives of those living on the Street. Harvey consented to remove his brother permanently at Adam’s request—as long as Adam could get him out of jail.

After that, someone was discovered to be responsible for Natasha’s death, but Adam had a moral crisis and gave the police everything instead. Then, in an attempt to discipline Adam, furious Harvey dispatched a car to mow down Bethany and Sarah. Adam avoided death when he leaped in front of the car.

Meanwhile, Damon called Harvey and warned him to back off Sarah and Bethany. Harvey agreed – as long as Damon does a job for him. And now Damon wants half to cash from the job so he can buy Sarah her dream house.

It’s all likely to end in tears for someone, but what we do know is Harvey will be off again. Will confirmed to OK! back in February that he has already filmed his final scenes.

Is Mason Radcliffe leaving Coronation Street?

Mason Radcliffe, portrayed by Luca Toolan, has been torturing poor Liam Connor ever since he moved to Weatherfield. After Mason set Dylan up to get caught with a knife, Dylan realized who his real pals were while being scared into participating in too.

Dylan eventually revealed Mason’s whereabouts to the authorities. Mason only needed to be charged with it.

Gary and Maria learned that Mason had been charged with making threats in a public place with a bladed object on Monday, March 11. Because of the seriousness of the offense, he will probably receive a jail sentence. Many fans are now wondering if that represents Mason’s final appearance.

“Is this truly the final time we’ll see Mason?” X continued. “Wait did we not get to see Mason’s last scenes?” inquired another.

Another person said, “I really hope we’re not being robbed of seeing Mason’s downfall on screen.”

Although they wouldn’t comment on what transpires next, Coronation Street did tell Entertainment Daily that Mason will still be around.

What will occur next, then? Will he be absolved of his transgressions and turn into a changed person? Or will he go to jail and stop appearing on the show?

Who’s returning to Coronation Street in 2024?

Nicky Wheatley

As Nicky Wheatley, Kimberly Hart Simpson is playing the same part again. Daniel Osbourne, his former flame, will find her in his quest to clear his name after Lauren Bolton’s disappearance.

Nicky used to be an escort, so he hopes she can assist. She actually met Daniel in this way—he paid her to wear her late wife Sinead’s clothes after she passed away from cancer.

Nicky works as a community outreach worker these days. Daniel thinks that she might be able to ask the females she works with on the streets for information about Lauren’s disappearance.

The girls are afraid, but Nicky is determined to help him. Is she able to support them in being honest with Daniel and assist him in clearing his name?

Kimberly has mentioned going back to becoming Nicky. “It’s been four years since we met Nicky, and it’s great to be back on the cobbles,” she remarked. The experiences of women working in the sex industry are frequently ignored, denigrated, or kept silent. But not at Coronation Street, where they respectfully examine the society these women live in, the effects it has on the neighborhood, and occasionally the risks associated with their line of work.

“The narrative of Lauren Bolton has made it possible for other characters, like Cassie, to come forward and be secure, but regrettably it has also resulted in the disastrous consequences of conspiracy theories spread by other people. Since Nicky has battled against all prejudices, I’m excited for the audience to learn who and where

Tracy McDonald drives off to sunny Spain

Tracy McDonald and her partner Tommy Orpington departed Weatherfield on Tuesday, April 2, in search of a better life in Spain. Her husband Steve, her family, and her flower store were all left behind.

Is she truly gone for good, though?

Even if Tracy’s future is still unknown on Coronation Street, this feels like a rather peaceful farewell for such a show classic! Is this going to be the final time we see her? Or will she soon come back from Spain with her tail tucked between her legs?

Given Tommy’s unreliable reputation, is her happy ending really too good to be true?

Who’s joining Coronation Street in 2024?

Rebecca

Gemma Merna, a former Hollyoaks star, has disclosed that she will soon be joining the cobbles. In the next weeks, she will appear on screens as Rebecca.

The actress gained notoriety for her role as Hollyoaks’ Carmel McQueen, who perished in a train accident.

Gemma described her position outside the Rovers as her “dream job” when she uploaded a photo of herself to Instagram.

She went on, “It’s unbelievable! Since I was a young child, I have always wanted to appear on Coronation Street. For me, being a native of Manchester is undoubtedly a dream come true.

“I’ve had this on my vision board for more than ten years, and I finally had the opportunity to walk the cobbles. It still amazes me that I’m writing this.

As stated by Metro.co.uk Adam Barlow is going to have a new romantic interest in Rebecca. But because the plot is so brief, she will only be seen in a few episodes.

Mr and Mrs Deering

Callum Lil’s character Joel Deering was just thrown out by Dee-Dee Bailey for not telling her about his wife and daughter. But it’s not the last time we’ll see him.

Callum recently disclosed to the public, including Entertainment Daily, that his parents are in route to the cobblestones.

It’s similar to the middle child in a middle-class family, he explained. He’s undoubtedly attempting to navigate it while trying to be adequate. I’m interested to watch that develop and see how it turns out.
