ITV has undergone a significant schedule reorganization, and Coronation Street viewers will have to wait until next week to catch up on the cobblestone action.
As a result of various schedule adjustments made by ITV, Coronation Street will no longer be broadcast on Friday, September 8.
Fans will have to wait a few days to learn what the Weatherfield inhabitants have been up to rather than the normal 8pm time slot.
It is anticipated that regular programming will resume on Monday night (September 11) at the normal time.
The soap was taken off the air to make room for the Rugby World Cup, which would be televised from 6:35 pm to 10:35 pm.
Emmerdale won’t air either because both soap operas air during this time.
ITV did, however, air an additional episode of both soaps earlier this week in anticipation of the schedule change.
On Wednesday, a dramatic episode involving Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) was presented to the audience.
Lauren’s rage overcame her as her jealously of her ex-boyfriend Max Turner (Paddy Bever) reached a boiling point.
After viewing pictures of the teenager and his new love interest Sabrina Adetiba (Luana Santos) on social media, Lauren was no longer able to take it.
Max was horrified to see the wreckage after the unstable youngster destroyed Audrey Roberts’ (Sue Nicholls) salon in a fit of wrath.
Although Lauren was prompted to return to work by his assurance that he would try to fill in for her, it appeared that her problems had only begun.
Two police officers announced to the diner that they had her under custody for alleged criminal property damage.
The serial actor added that Lauren’s future is now up in the air and that the arrest served as a wake-up call for her because she doesn’t want to join her father in prison.
“I think it’s given her a taste of what her dad’s going through,” said actress Cait Fitton.
She is quite disappointed in herself for her behavior since it has made her realize that the life she is now leading is one she does not desire for herself.
The soap opera diva said that her character is a ticking time bomb since she suppresses her emotions because she has no one to share them with.
“For Lauren, coming back and finding out Max was with Sabrina was a kick in the gut.
Since she plainly doesn’t have her dad, mother, or friends, Max was truly all she had. As a result, she had no one on whom she could vent her nervousness or worries.
To find out what will happen to Lauren after the arrest and whether she has truly lost Max, fans will have to wait until next week.
