Stephen Reid, a serial killer, is one of several villains now featured on Coronation Street, but another has made a brief comeback.

On Wednesday night, a well-known character unexpectedly made a dramatic return to Coronation Street and delivered a terrifying warning regarding another character.

A former character named Bridget (Beth Vyse), who is presently doing time in jail for a historic murder, was contacted by Stu Carpenter (played by Bill Fellows), who had recently made a comeback on the ITV soap opera.

Bridget’s appearance on the programme the previous year was related to her father’s release from prison following his erroneous conviction.

Nobody knew she had a hand in the very crime her father was charged with.

She was so charged with murder and given a death sentence.

Bridget’s daughter Eliza (Savannah Kunyo) lives with Stu while Bridget is still inside.

In the most recent episode, Stu worried about Eliza’s safety after finding out about a strange newcomer to Weatherfield who claimed to know something about his daughter.

Darren Morfitt, Eliza’s estranged father, was the person Eliza had been covertly corresponding with, much to the relief of Stu.

Having not seen Eliza since she was a newborn, Dom emphasised his wish to reenter her life.

Dom’s promises of metamorphosis eventually convinced Stu, who had been initially dubious.

But before letting him get back with Eliza, he thought he had to acquire Bridget’s blessing. Sadly, Bridget herself issued a menacing warning after that.

Bridget spoke to Stu from her cell, warning him about Dom’s true character.

He was not to be trusted, she said, and she forewarned that he would just let Eliza down as he had done so many times before.

He’s horrible news, she said. He has always been there and always will.

Shocked by Bridget’s admission, Stu took the difficult choice to sever Eliza’s relationship with her father.

Eliza was heartbroken by this, feeling torn between her mother’s power over her relationship with Dom and trapped in the middle.

She opened up to Stu, telling him that Dom had expressed regret and acknowledged prior transgressions.

However, when Dom forcibly entered the residence after realising he was no longer permitted to see his daughter, the scenario took an even more dramatic turn.

He and Stu got into a heated argument, with Stu demanding that he leave right away.
