Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason Grimshaw on Coronation Street, is the most recent celebrity to be mentioned in connection with the upcoming season of Dancing On Ice 2024.

Ryan Thomas, a former cast member of Coronation Street, is reportedly the newest participant to be announced for Dancing On Ice 2024.

The 39-year-old father of three, who has a daughter with his former Corrie co-star Tina O’Brien and two children with TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, played Jason Grimshaw in the ITV soap opera but left the Cobbles back in 2016.

He would join the other contestants who had already been revealed, including the boxer Ricky Hatton, 44, the former S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt, 42, the 26-year-old West End and Love Island star Amber Davis, and the 52-year-old current Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney.

According to a source who spoke to The Sun, “Ryan has a big personality so will make cracking reality TV.”

Ryan’s participation hasn’t been confirmed, but contestants are already being announced by ITV even though the show doesn’t return until January.

ITV was contacted by Express.co.uk, who was informed that “any names linked are purely speculative” and that they would not comment.

Ryan has experience with reality television; he won Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5 in 2018 and appeared in The Games the year before.

Unfortunately, his time on that show was marred when Roxanne Pallett, another housemate, accused him of intentionally hurting her before later admitting she was mistaken.

When the 40-year-old claimed Ryan hit her “like a boxer punches a bag” during a play fight, he was given a formal warning and forced to sleep in a room away from the rest of the house.

The incident led to more than 25,000 Ofcom complaints, making it the most complained-about TV program of the decade. Viewers jumped to Ryan’s defense.

Later, Roxanne acknowledged she made a mistake and decided to leave the house on Day 17.

Ryan went on to win the competition, adding that he was “glad” that there was “24-hour surveillance” in the Big Brother house.

“It was a sign of affection… there was nothing in it,” he claimed in his exit interview.

“It scared me as it unraveled and grew larger and larger. Everyone is aware of the impact such a thing can have on a man.
