Stephen Reid from Coronation Street has been considering moving to Thailand with his girlfriend Jenny Connor, according to an exclusive report.
Todd Boyce, who plays Stephen Reid on Coronation Street, has spoken out about the demise of his character and acknowledged that it was “perfectly timed” and that the “audience will be pleased.”
Stephen has been careful to keep the deaths of Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost), Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin), and Rufus Donahue (Steve Meo) a secret over the past few weeks.
But according to recent official Coronation Street spoilers, Carla Connor (Alison King) will learn that Stephen drugged her with LSD in order to take over Underworld.
When she begins to look into what happened and gets in touch with DS Swain (Vicky Myers), she is informed that she needs more evidence and becomes even more determined to bring Stephen to justice, unwittingly contributing to the discovery of his murders.
Since Stephen accidentally dropped his tie pin while killing Rufus, his demise has been inevitable.
Viewers will see Stephen’s lies and crimes all come crashing down in upcoming scenes, with an inevitable conclusion that actor Todd had claimed was the “perfect” timing.
Todd said in a statement to Express.co.uk and other media, “I think the audience will be pleased with how it shakes out.
People have noted that numerous murderers in history have gone unpunished for years at a time, but in the world of soap operas, you can only tolerate that injustice for so long, so I believe the timing is perfect.
“Ian and I once discussed staying a little longer, but I couldn’t be happier with the time frame and the means; I think it is perfect and I am overjoyed with it,” she said.
In the week leading up to his downfall, Jenny Connor (Sally-Ann Matthews) is eagerly making plans for her new life with Stephen in Thailand, not realizing he was the one who killed her boyfriend.
The citizens of Weatherfield are shocked that he has been hiding in plain sight for such a long time as the drama plays out.
