Watch as Billy Mayhew and Paul Foreman sneak away from their wedding at the Bistro to have a special ceremony in the church as Coronation Street viewers.
Daniel Brocklebank, a cast member of Coronation Street, expressed concern for Billy Mayhew’s future following some impending wedding-related complications.
The ITV soap opera’s episode from Monday night featured Billy getting married to Peter Ash’s character, Paul Foreman, in the Bistro.
After the wedding, Paul surprises his new husband by telling him he has found a vicar who will secretly wed them in a church.
Billy decides to go ahead and have the couple get married again in front of all of their family and friends, even though he is aware that it is against the law.
A Polaroid of them exchanging vows is left at the church, so it appears that more people will learn about the covert ceremony.

Spoilers indicate The church has decided to suspend Billy indefinitely for breaking the rules because same-sex marriages are not permitted in places of worship.
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk and other media outlets, the soap star discussed Billy’s future after the suspension.
Billy is still getting paid, so that’s good, he said. He is not fired; he is only suspended. As a result, he continues to receive income; otherwise, there would have been an additional level of stress.
Billy is quite adamant that “This is where we’re at for now,” and since he lacks any other skills, he has no idea what in the world he’s going to do.

“I think that it gives Paul, them both some time together,” said the speaker. “He’d definitely have to retrain if he was going to do anything.”
Daniel emphasized that Billy and Paul are cherishing their time together and making the best of a difficult circumstance.
“Paul’s disability is changing and getting worse all the time,” he continued.
Therefore, Billy is not only attempting to support him despite his physical limitations or his capability. There are also the associated emotional changes and other things.

“I believe they just hunker down and carry on,”
The consequences of Billy breaking the rules are still unknown, but he is expected to cause some commotion.
Two parishioners will express their feelings to the newlyweds in scenes scheduled to air this week; however, one person’s remarks get the better of Billy, and he reacts angrily.
