‘Simon’ was last seen by Emmerdale viewers when he impersonated Harry and attacked two of Chas Dingle’s relatives.

A dangerous character made a comeback in the most recent episode of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, but under a different name.

Fans immediately used social media to draw attention to the error surrounding his reappearance.

Lucy Pargeter’s character, Chas Dingle, has been having grief issues as the anniversary of the passing of her daughter Grace draws near.

And in the episode that aired on Monday night, it appeared as though she might be getting herself into trouble after making a new friend.

Audiences watched as a drunk Chas brought a stranger named “Simon” home with her. He made out he had too much to drink that night and ended up sleeping on her sofa.

However, some fans found the whole thing confusing.

One viewer asked on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Did I miss something? He’s sleeping on the sofa, why? Just return home!”

“As if you’d let a random guy you just met sleep on your sofa,” a second remarked.

Another person noticed what they thought might be a mistake: “Lovely to see this new guy is going to sleep on the sofa and Chas getting him a duvet… The kitchen window is filled with light.

The conclusion of a fourth admirer was, “Why does Baldy need to stay on her sofa? It’s a little odd that she spent an hour chatting and flirting with him and is now offering bed and breakfast. He undoubtedly already had a place to go—his home.

The character known only as “Simon” has previously appeared on television.

Fans may recall how William Ash’s character Caleb Miligan, Chas’ half-brother, refused to allow local gangster Harry (played by Robert Beck) to hide guns at his car dealership, leaving him for dead and with several broken ribs.

He also made an attempt to harm Cain Dingle, the brother of Chas Dingle (Jeff Hordley). Additionally, ‘Simon’ took hold of a framed picture of Chas and her brothers when he was left alone in The Woolpack’s living room.

The next morning, as ‘Simon’ is leaving the pub, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) runs into Chas, but Chas is unwilling to talk about his overnight stay.

She turns to ‘Simon’ and breaks down in tears as Paddy later informs her that Eve wants to live with him.

As ‘Simon’ uses Chas to reach her brothers, could she soon find herself in danger? To find out how it unfolds in upcoming scenes, viewers will need to stay tuned.
