Jai Sharma, a stalwart of Emmerdale, was devastated to learn that Rishi wasn’t his real father and that the man he believed to be his uncle was actually his father.
After Jai’s (Chris Bisson) real father shows up in the village, the Sharma family from Emmerdale might end up being torn apart in upcoming scenes.
In upcoming scenes, Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) experiences the shock of his life after learning that Jai is actually his brother rather than his cousin.
Things take an unexpected turn when Suni and Jai’s father, Amit (Anil Goutam), shows up in the village after he leaves his father a voicemail.
However, Emmerdale executive Laura Shaw and actors Brahmdeo and Anil teased what was in store for the Sharma family while speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk and other media.
“Obviously, we found out not so long ago that Rishi was actually not Jai’s biological father, and actually Jai’s father is Amit, Rishi’s brother and Suni’s father,” Laura said.
And while we’ll see that Suni wants Amit to stay, could Suni end up regretting it given that Amit is a rather dark and complex character?
“Is Amit keeping a new secret that could tear the family asunder? We’ll find out.
The soap executive continued by talking about Super Soap Week, which will air this week, and how “big secrets will be revealed.”
Asserting that viewers would only “see one side” of his character, the actor who plays Amit said: “You have only seen one aspect of him and he has a darker side to him, but not in his own mind.”
“In his own mind, he acts in such a way as to safeguard the family. He believes it to be the proper course of action to safeguard his family.
The soap star teased, “I think you’ll definitely see connections with other characters,” in response to a question about other connections in the village.
“Again, I am not sure how much I can say, so I guess you will see.”
The fact that Jai is the son Amit has always desired may also cause tensions to increase between Suni and Jai.
Brahmdeo said, when asked how it affects his character, “I think from Suni’s point of view and the fact that he would do anything for his dad.”
