Soon, a thrilling new movie starring Josh Kelly (Cody, General Hospital) will be available for viewing! Thankfully, the actor won’t be gone from Port Charles for too long as he is currently taking a break from the soap opera to film an action film!
On their Daily Drama podcast, the actor informed his GH co-stars Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) and Steve Burton (Jason) about his upcoming endeavor. Before concluding their conversation, the three hosts inquired about Kelly’s plans for the impending dark week on the serial opera. and the tea poured. “I’m working on a film. It’s kind of cool,” he said. “I’m filming a retaliation video named The Workout Video.”
The movie’s original concept revolved around two former special forces agents, as Kelly described. But since then, those characters have been deliberately created to be former Army Rangers, just like Kelly, who was a Ranger for three deployments in Afghanistan and one tour in Iraq. “Becoming a Navy SEAL is technically more difficult,” he revealed. But that’s just a number. I’m not gloating over it.
Kelly revealed with excitement that there is “a lot of action” in the film and that the production took roughly three weeks to complete. “The timing miraculously aligned,” he continued, adding that GH was previously scheduled to take a week-long break at that period. “The show has been excellent. He laughed and remarked, “Yeah, well, we don’t need you.”
Kelly acknowledged that he was excited to use the film as an opportunity to show off his acting prowess. It’s going to be enjoyable. After disclosing that he hasn’t worked on any side projects or other endeavors since joining the program, he joked with Burton to finish the interview, saying, “I’ve got to kill some bad guys.” Jason, I picked that up from observing you!
