The actor has explained why she had to quit social media

As she struggled with her mental health, Helen Flanagan disclosed that she experienced a “bad reaction” to her ADHD medication that put her into a psychosis. The 33-year-old actress, who is best known for playing Coronation Street’s Rosie Webster, revealed that she was “emotionally struggling” following her breakup with her children’s father.

She recently ended her relationship with football player Scott Sinclair, with whom she has three children: Charlie, 2, and Delilah, 5. In order to deal with a negative reaction to her ADHD medication, Flanagan canceled her engagement in a theater tour of Cluedo 2.

She said on her first Instagram post since January that she had taken a few months off from social media but that she was back. throughout other words, I had a lot of mental health issues throughout December and January. I didn’t really feel any better after Christmas, and when I took the kids away for the new year, I didn’t feel all that much better either.

“I just can’t talk about a lot of the unpleasant stuff that I had going on Instagram. When I returned from vacation, I decided it would be best for me to take some medication in order to feel better and be able to deal with being a working single mother of three. I was also going through an emotional roller coaster due to the breakup with my kids’ father. I felt horrible. I was also excited about my upcoming theater tour.

She continued, saying, “I had an extremely horrible reaction to the drug, which is an ADHD medication, and it sent me into a psychosis that I was unaware I was in for a few days. I was regretfully not emotionally prepared to handle this negative reaction, which occurred a few days before rehearsals began. I really adore my kids so much.

I was devastated since I had always worked as a professional actress, but with the support of my wonderful parents, I had to stay at home and take care of myself and my children.

Flanagan continued, saying that she was in a “really good happy place” and that she had discovered “amazing” therapy. “I feel like I’ve worked on myself with things that were quite tough to me,” she said, adding, “but now I feel lighter.”

In Cluedo 2, Flanagan was replaced as Miss Scarlett by Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie Leach. It was declared at the time that Flanagan had left the show due to “medical reasons.”
