She has swapped her blonde locks for a bright auburn red hairstyle

In her new role for ITV’s new thriller Passenger, child actress Matilda Freeman, who portrayed Summer Spellman in the ITV soap opera, looked radically different.

Passenger tracks Wunmi Mosaku’s portrayal of former Met Police Detective Riya Ajunwa.

Investigating a number of strange events in the tiny community of Chadder Vale is all she can do.

Riya must put in a lot of effort to persuade the locals that things are more complicated than they appear, given the mysterious disappearances and surprise reappearances.

Along with Debbie Rush and Jack James Ryan, two former Corrie stars, there’s Daniel Ryan and Barry Sloane from The Bay.

Matilda, who portrays Lilly Wells, posted screen grabs of herself in character on Instagram.

Her appearance is completely different from her Coronation Street persona, with freckles on her nose and brilliant reddish red hair instead of blonde.

From 2017 to 2020, the actress portrayed Summer Spellman in Corrie, a role that was eventually assumed by Harriet Bibby.

In last night’s episode, the character accepted a position at Boston University in America and left the cobbles.

Summer wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), who is suffering from motor neurone disease, therefore she wasn’t sure whether to accept the offer.

Paul informed Summer that it would be unwise to decline the opportunity to attend Boston University.

“I’d like to say thank you to my second family, the cast, crew, and viewers who have supported me during my time on the cobbles,” she stated when she first announced her departure from the serial opera.

“After three and a half lovely years I felt it was time for a change and I’m excited to be starting that next chapter with a new role.”

Her reason for leaving was “to be able to work on other shows/films/projects,” she told her admirers.

“Working at Corrie is quite limiting because you’re under contract, so you can’t work on anything else while you’re there,” she continued.
