Rose Delaney from Home and Away promised in Thursday’s Australian shows (August 10) to find her biological father.
After meeting Mali Hudson’s mother recently, the police constable developed an interest in her family history.
Mali joyfully presented his girlfriend to his mother Victoria last week. Elandra, Mali’s sister, attended the meeting as well; she had already met Rose.
Rose was reminded that she doesn’t know much about her own origins as she observed Mali, Victoria, and Elandra engaging with one another, including a discussion about how Mali and Elandra’s names were picked.

During Thursday’s trip to Summer Bay, Rose confided in Cash Newman, a coworker, about how she felt the time was ripe to learn more.
Rose said, “I don’t even know the man’s name,” in response to Cash’s question about her father. Fair enough, I didn’t inquire until last week.
“Mum would just become upset if someone mentioned how different I looked from Xander. I decided it was best to remain silent.”
Rose’s half-brother Xander took a dim view on her inquiry, believing that it was an insult to her late stepfather Alexander.

It was revealed in Rose and Xander’s first scenes together last year that they were separated by their biological fathers, but they had the same mother.
Rose persisted in her search for information in spite of Xander’s criticism and eventually began to believe that she could identify her father in an old picture with her mother. Can she meet him somehow?
