New Home and Away promo shows Bronte kidnap Dana

Dramatic scenes are depicted in a new Home and Away teaser as scammer Bronte abducts Dana just as she is about to reveal her secret.

After visiting Irene (Lynne McGranger) at a hospital in the city for Irene’s yearly physical, Bronte (Stefanie Caccamo) traveled to Summer Bay last month.

Bronte revealed that Irene had contacted her after noticing she was distraught and that she had spilled her heart out to her when Irene introduced her to Harper (Jessica Redmayne).

Bronte was quite ill, and Irene subsequently told Harper that she was being tested for an autoimmune disease.

But soon after, we spotted Bronte talking to a colleague on the phone, telling them that Irene is a pushover and that she owns her own house and business. It turned out that Bronte was perfectly well.

In the weeks that followed, Bronte disclosed that the only treatment she had left was an experimental procedure in Canada that would have cost her around $100,000.

As more and more people in Summer Bay came under Bronte’s influence, Irene took it upon herself to raise the money, and Xander (Luke Van Os) assisted her in starting a crowdfunding effort.

The donations came flooding in, with Salt contributing a sizeable sum and many others in the neighborhood more than willing to lend a hand.

Then, Bronte subtly revealed that she had also been impacted by the poisoning when the Diner was closed because of a contamination situation and Irene revealed that one of the impacted customers was suing them for $50,000.

Irene was overcome with guilt because it seemed that her exposure to the benzine, which had seeped into the diner’s water system, had accelerated the development of her unexplained autoimmune ailment.

Irene decided that she would pay Bronte’s compensation personally and started planning how to raise $50,000 when the diner’s insurers said that they would not be paying the claims since she and Leah (Ada Nicodemou) had neglected to properly service the piping.

Dana (Ally Harris), who saw the gaps in the con artist’s story right away, is the only one who has concerns about Bronte. But despite her best attempts, Irene has ignored her, and not even her boyfriend Xander nor her sister Harper have agreed to consider her thoughts.

In a previous teaser from mid-June, it was first suggested that when Dana got closer to disclosing Bronte’s secret, she would find herself imprisoned by Bronte and her associate.

We now have a closer look at the action in a new trailer that ran following the most recent Australian episode. In it, Luke Van Os’ character Xander worries that his fiancée has vanished.

Bronte informs her unknown associate, “We need to shut her up,” as the narration in the teaser reminds us that “she’s conned the bay, but one person sees through the lot.”

Then, one evening while Dana is home alone, we witness Bronte and an as-yet-unknown man entering Irene’s beach house.

Dana tries to run, but Bronte grabs her before she can get away.

She is seen kicking and struggling through the beach house window while Bronte’s partner covers her lips with his hands.

Dana is imprisoned inside a metal shipping container when we next meet her.

She tries to reach through the tiny opening in the door to retrieve the padlock, but it is useless because she is securely locked inside and appears to be in the middle of nowhere.

The narrator states, “She’s gone now.”

Given that Dana has vanished, Harper concludes that her sister has ran away, citing her sister’s propensity for doing so.

She informs Irene, “She takes off needing space whenever things get tough.”

“Do we need to worry?” Harper tells Irene that “it’s fine, she always comes back” in response to her question.

Harper is asked if she had an opportunity to talk to Dana the night before when Xander finds her the next day.

Harper tells him, “Actually, she’s gone away,” with Bronte trailing closely behind. “And she hasn’t returned my calls or messages.”

While the preview returns to a depressing Dana confined to the shipping container and seeing little of her surroundings via a sliver of daylight, Bronte is hard at work trying to persuade everyone that Dana’s departure is a good thing.

“Perhaps this is precisely what she requires,” Bronte informs Xander in Salt.

Xander, though, is unable to stop worrying.

“I just feel like Dana’s not okay,” he says to Ray Meagher’s character Alf.

Before the commercial swings back to Dana crying for help, John (Shane Withington) says, “Where on earth is Dana?” with his arms raised in fury over the loss of his newest surf lifesaver.

Although Bronte informs Xander that his girlfriend has left for a retreat, it appears that she acknowledges that she was the last to see Dana.

Unsure of her veracity, Xander attempts to win over Bree (Juliet Godwin) and John.

After successfully persuading Bree that the narrative is not credible, they go to the Yabbie Creek Police Station to file a report with Rose (Kirsty Marillier).
