Fans of the venerable soap show Home and Away were taken aback when it aired two unexpected and contentious plots last week.

In the first, after his sister Felicity, played by Jacqui Purvis, passed away, Nicholas Cartwright’s character Cash Newman suffered double heartbreak and his engagement to Eden came to an end.

While he is still grieving for his former spouse Felicity, Ethan Browne’s character Tane Parata, who was Harper’s one-night stand, found out that she was expecting his child.

Fans were caught off guard by the two shocking plotlines, and many of them swiftly rushed to social media to vent their displeasure with the characters’ actions.

One user sniped, “Poor Eden, she didn’t deserve that. I know Cash is hurting a lot, but Eden also lost her best friend.”

“I sobbed a lot!” And Cash did what next? I’m in shock,’ said another user.

Others, on the other hand, sympathized with Cash’s situation and felt that people ought to be patient with him during his difficult time.

“He is speaking out of sorrow.” He lost his sibling in addition to his parents. He ended his relationship with Eden by telling her that he didn’t want to bury her either. He doesn’t think a happy ending is possible for him.

Fans were criticizing Harper, portrayed by Jessica Redmayne, in other places for revealing Tane’s shocking news at the worst possible moment.

She ought to have informed him right away or, at the very least, waited until they had had a chance to bid his ex-wife farewell. Very difficult timing,’ grumbled one.

Harper once again chose the incorrect moment. “Tanet isn’t happy,” said a different viewer.

A third-person advertisement stated, “Tane always wanted a child, but he wanted to be in a relationship before he has a child, not a one-night stand.”

It follows the heartbreaking scenes earlier this month in which Felicity Newman, a beloved character, collapsed and passed away.

The 33-year-old actress has now spoken out about her devastating last episodes, which had viewers in tears after her character on the serial opera died.

The Australian celebrity, who aspires to be a huge star in Hollywood, shared a heartfelt homage to her fans and the show that gave her fame on Instagram on Tuesday.

“What a life!” I’m grateful to @homeandaway for a fantastic three years. Had a fantastic time,” she commented next to a clip of her antics from behind the scenes.

Jacqui continued by expressing her gratitude to her co-star and romantic interest on screen, Tane Parata, the character of Felicity’s ex-husband Ethan Browne.
