With two cast members returning to the Carter family for a funeral, fresh filming photographs from EastEnders this week strongly suggested Linda Carter’s passing. But might this be a misleading herring?
Fans of EastEnders are anticipating a dramatic Christmastime death, but it may not be Linda Carter after all.
It was made fun of. More than ten years after making her screen debut on the BBC serial opera, Kellie Bright’s character would die. However, some fans now believe that Linda doesn’t actually die and that the photos from the film are a false herring.
In location shots that were published this week, the ensemble was seen getting ready for a funeral; two significant comebacks were hinted to be forthcoming. The Carter family was the subject of the images, with Johnny Carter reuniting with his siblings Nancy and Lee in a few melancholy moments.
There’s their grandma Elaine Peacock, friend Callum Highway, and Linda’s best friend Sharon Watts. Concerns about Linda’s death arise since she is conspicuously absent.

Viewers are afraid Linda may pass away soon due to clues such as Nancy’s pink flamingo earrings and a white casket with a pink rose. On the same day that these pictures were made public, actress Kellie also shared a photo on Instagram in which she was seen holding a pot with the words “The End” written at the bottom.
All of this might be a devious plot device used by the EastEnders writers to keep the audience wondering. Actor Danny Walters was snapped at an airport and on location for another funeral scene, which happened to be his own, after all last Christmas, when Keanu Taylor was the tragic casualty in ‘The Six’ narrative.
The soap opera has done this before, so this wouldn’t be the first instance. The Sun was able to secure new on-set photos that show Johnny in a desperate situation, with his elder brother Lee helping him out of the chapel while obviously drunk. Later, as Linda’s mother Elaine, portrayed by actress Harriet Thorpe, and her granddaughter are having a furious dispute, Johnny is seen drinking vodka from a bottle perched atop a gravestone.
She is also seen having a heated conversation with his on-screen sister Nancy, played by Maddy Hill, until she abruptly smacks her across the face in a dramatic moment. However, because Linda has vanished, some admirers are now certain that it may not be Linda’s funeral but rather someone else’s.

After Shirley Carter unexpectedly left the soap opera more than a year ago, many are afraid she would be killed off. Some fans have questioned if Linda’s husband Mick will be buried nearly two years after it appeared that he drowned, if not Shirley.
Have they located Mick’s remains? Is Shirley going to die because her followers want her back?”Shirley or it will be one of George’s daughters, I don’t think it’s Linda as that’s too obvious,” a fan wrote on social media.
“I think this is Mick’s funeral,” another person said, while a third person speculated that “maybe Mick’s body has been found.” “Shirley Carter funeral looms,” speculated a fourth fan, while another commented, “Shirley? or Mick’s body has been discovered.”
