Rebecca Breeds, star of Home and Away, has announced that she is expecting her first child.

While visiting the Adelaide Film Festival for the premiere of the new Kangaroo Island film, the 37-year-old Australian actress posted a picture of her expanding baby bulge on Instagram. Rebecca portrays Lou Wells in the film, a failed Hollywood actress who goes back to Kangaroo Island to face her family’s history.

The actress shared a picture from the event’s red carpet, writing: “I’m so happy to reveal that baby Mitchell and @kangarooislandmovie will be out soon! We are grateful to @adlfilmfest for hosting us and to everyone who came to show support. Rebecca grinned for the cameras while holding her growing baby bump in a beautiful pink dress and high heels.

To congratulate Rebecca and her husband Luke Mitchell on their good news, many fans flocked to the comment area. “Congratulations, Bec and Luke!” one wrote. Very fantastic news. And someone else said, “OMG CONGRATULATIONS.” Another person remarked, “You look amazing.” “We’re so excited for you guys!!!” someone else remarked.

Following his wife’s post, Luke also announced the news on his Instagram Stories, writing, “I’m the luckiest man, husband & soon to be Dad (!!) in the UNIVERSE.” After falling in love on the set of Home and Away in 2009, Luke and Rebecca have been together for almost 15 years. She played Ruby Buckton in the series, and he played Romeo Smith. They became engaged in May 2012, and a few months later, in January 2013, they

After several years in the US, they moved back to Australia. “It’s been really, really nice just to ground ourselves and be back home,” Rebecca previously told TV Week. I’ve wanted a vegetable garden for a very long time, and now I have one. Therefore, it has been tremendously calming for the soul to literally plant roots back home.”

“It was really powerful to have someone who was your anchor and your home base, because it can be a very difficult experience, moving away from everything you’ve ever known,” she added, describing their time spent overseas. There are many highs and lows in our industry, along with a lot of pressure.
