Following a significant misunderstanding that led to tension, EastEnders has shown a kiss between Kat Slater and Alfie Moon.
Alfie assisted the Slaters in getting back together this week after Kat and her family got into a fight over Jean’s call to social services regarding Tommy.
Freddie saw their chemistry and she was appreciative of his assistance, but as Alfie contemplated the prospect of a reunion, he caught sight of Kat and Stacey conversing with a group of men in The Vic.
In today’s episode, Kat was in his bedroom with someone else when Alfie woke up on the sofa and was getting ready for the twins.
Alfie discussed the matter with Ian, who advised him to establish some limits, because he believed Kat had spent the night with one of the men from the pub.
When he went back to the apartment and questioned Kat about her actions, he was shocked to learn that Stacey had actually spent the night there.
However, the two quickly got into a fight as Kat said she was entitled to do as she pleased in her house and Alfie accused her of being responsible for the situation they were in with Tommy.
As Kat and Alfie arrived for their social services meeting, they were at odds, but Alfie supported Kat by holding her hand when Tommy became aloof from his mother.
They were informed that Tommy’s case had been stepped down when the investigation was finished, and they could now begin the process of getting him back home.
Even though it felt awkward, Alfie gave a poignant speech at the end of the meeting, telling Tommy that even though his anger was fleeting, love would always endure and that he and Kat would always be there for him.
As he and the social worker left, Tommy appeared moved by his father’s remarks, and it seemed like the family had made some headway.
When they got back to the apartment, Kat shocked Alfie by giving him a quick kiss, expressing her gratitude for his support during the meeting.
Will Alfie respond, and is a reunion possible?
