Though he’s had a few different looks, Aiden Spencer from GENERAL HOSPITAL has grown up on the soap opera, so it seems sense that some viewers might wonder about his past, particularly in regards to his father. Aiden was born in July 2010 and was portrayed as a baby and toddler by a number of twins until 2011–12, when Titus Jackson, Jonathan Jackson’s (ex-Lucky) real-life son, took over. Jason David assumed the role in August 2012 and played Liz’s son through March 2021. August of that same year saw GH recast Aiden once more, this time with Enzo De Angelis, who is the boy’s current actor.

Elizabeth Webber had split up with Lucky Spencer because she was seeing his brother, Nikolas Cassadine, when she became pregnant with Aiden. She attempted to get a paternity test conducted, but as is customary in Port Charles, Helena Cassadine manipulated the findings this time to lead her to believe Nik was the father. Serial killer Franco took Aiden from the hospital after he was born, so he could give the baby to his own mother. Aiden was located by Dante and Jason, and Lucky went to pick him up so he could bring him back to Liz and Nikolas.

Liz became skeptical when Monica Quartermaine remarked in passing that Aiden resembled Lucky as a baby. She had another DNA test done and was shocked to find that Lucky was, in fact, Aiden’s father. But Jake, her other son, was killed when he was struck by a car at the same moment. It took months before Liz ultimately told the truth because of the tragic development. While Lucky was content, a furious Nikolas had other ideas and was going to flee with Aiden until he changed his mind.

Aiden’s autoimmune condition, Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, was identified in November 2011. His recovery was aided by a blood transfusion provided by his aunt, Lulu Spencer. After a month, Lucky departed from Port Charles, leaving Liz to take care of her son alone. The following year, Aiden created a ruckus in the family when his teacher, Willow Tait, told Liz and Franco that the youngster was struggling in school and that his cousin, Charlotte, was bullying him. However, the issues were far more serious than that.

Franco shared his love of baking with Aiden, who was very withdrawn and uncommunicative, and eventually helped the child come out of his shell. But Aiden’s classmates are dubbing him “Gayden,” so Jake told his mother and Franco that they shouldn’t allow him to share his baked goodies with the other students. Liz was upset because she didn’t want to limit her son’s individuality. Liz promised to stand behind Aiden regardless of the path he took in life, even though she was aware that being gay had nothing to do with a passion for baking.

Aiden grew close to his mother’s boyfriend despite being taken by him when he was a baby, and he was delighted when they got married. However, the murder of his stepfather in March 2021 devastated him. And when Aiden’s mother started having flashbacks of Franco, he started to question whether Franco was indeed attempting to reach them from the afterlife! (It wasn’t.)

When Aiden and the rest of the family bid farewell to big brother Cameron, who was leaving for college in California, in March 2023, they last saw each other. In his pirate costume, he also attended Kelly’s Halloween party. then confided in his mother during Christmas about his crush for Tobias, a science student.

Aiden told his mother that Jason shot Dante and that Jake didn’t know what to think when Jason came back from the grave in March 2024.
