Fans of Coronation Street are aware that this week will be a significant one in the soap’s schedule because Super Soap Week is scheduled to air some of its most important scenes of the year.
The ITV soap opera’s Beth Tinker, played by Coronation Street star Lisa George, won’t be participating in this week’s Super Soap Week.
As she made known, the actress’s scenes had been trimmed after she contracted Covid while filming.
She described how some of the cast and crew fell ill while they were filming for the significant week.
She said, “I got Covid, so I got cut from the scenes.
According to The Mirror, she continued: “I was gutted as I really liked the scenes as well, it was Super Soap Week and there was a sudden rush of Covid and we were dropping like flies, and unfortunately I got it as well.”
Lisa continued by addressing the rumors that her character would soon leave the cobblestones.
The rumors started after the actress mentioned renewing her contract and listed a few other shows she’d like to appear on if not the soap opera.
She stated to the journal, “I have a new contract.
It’s really strange because everyone kept saying you were leaving.
“When asked about my contract, I replied that I was waiting. When asked what I would like to do in the event that I didn’t receive one, I replied, “Call the midwife.
“That’s all I said it was a passing comment then the next thing, everyone is ringing me like, ‘You’re leaving, you’re leaving’.”
On Monday night, the big week on Corrie began, and viewers were shocked to learn that Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) might end up as the serial killer Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) next victim.
Tim had begun dousing the taxi in gasoline after being abandoned for dead in the boot.
He ran off to find a hiding place after being startled by a helicopter before setting it on fire.
Will he return to complete the task, or could Tim be saved?
