Recent episodes of Coronation Street have revealed Ed Bailey’s slow return to gambling after starting a business with his brother Ronnie.
Ed Bailey (Michael Georges), a character on Coronation Street, is going to tell his brother Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) about his recent gambling.
He’s battled his addiction in the past, but he’s managed to avoid financial difficulties until his brother decided they should start a business together.
Since then, viewers of the ITV soap opera have witnessed Ed gradually resuming his gambling and even resorting to robbing his son Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) of funds.
Ed wagers £1,000 of Michael’s money on a horse, and when he wins big, he decides to keep the winnings hidden from his family at home in a bag.
When Michael brings the bag to work, DS Swain (Vicky Myers) shows up, which changes everything.

As he opens his bag, Michael tells her everything he knows about the £250,000 that Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) stole from the Underworld account.
When the officers discover the massive amount of cash, they are shocked and demand to know where it came from. Michael admits he has no idea.
Ronnie then takes up Ed’s cause after Ed is horrified to see his son being arrested by police on charges that he conspired with Stephen to defraud Underworld.
Next week, as Ronnie presses him about the “friend” who gave him the money, Ed will grow agitated, according to official ITV soap opera spoilers.

Ronnie believes Ed has been gambling for a lot longer than he has been letting on because he is aware of his brother’s past addiction.
Ronnie decides to confront his brother and demand to know the truth for all time after growing weary of not having any answers.
Ed admits everything and tells Ronnie he won a lot of money betting on the horses, but he also makes a promise to stop gambling and never do it again.
Later, Dee-Dee opens up to Joel, her new boyfriend, about Ed’s previous gambling addiction.
Joel feels uneasy after learning that Ed’s financial difficulties nearly caused his family to split apart, even though Dee-Dee thinks it’s all behind them now.
She is unaware that Joel had to buy Ed’s coffee before they were formally introduced because he heard Ed’s credit card being declined.
Will Joel inform Dee-Dee that her dad is experiencing financial difficulties once more? Or will he remain silent to keep Ed happy?
