Since Sue Cleaver’s first appearance as Eileen Grimshaw on Coronation Street in 2000, the iconic character has been a part of numerous significant plotlines.
Although Sue Cleaver is best known for playing Eileen Grimshaw on Coronation Street, she is now taking on a brand-new role in Sister Act The Musical.
In the UK and Ireland tour of the popular stage production, the 60-year-old will take on the role of head nun Mother Superior.
Sue appears unrecognizable in a first look photo of her new appearance as she dons the recognizable nun garb.
The ITV star expressed her excitement about embarking on her new project, saying, “I’m thrilled to be stepping into the habit and joining the incredible company of Sister Act on tour.
“I haven’t performed on stage in more than 30 years, but theater has always been my first love.
“A chance to take on a role feels like heaven,” she exclaimed.
According to Digital Spy, the fan favorite from Coronation Street will reportedly take a brief break from the show to attend her theater engagement.
Charlie Condou was the first to comment on Sue’s new employment, saying: “I can’t wait for this!!!!” Sue’s Coronation Street co-stars flocked to the news.

As soon as she shared the exciting update with her 150.000 Instagram followers, her followers flocked to comment on the news.

Sue, a soap opera star, will formally join the cast on March 14 with a performance at Brighton’s Theatre Royal.
The mother-of-one will tour the nation after making a splash in Brighton and give performances in Manchester, Belfast, Cork, Glasgow, York, and Birmingham.
She will be joined on stage by fellow actors Landi Oshinowo, Alfie Parker and Ian Gareth-Jones.
After making her stage debut in 2000, Sue has played the part of Eileen on the cobbles for the past 20 years.
