David Platt from Coronation Street was “heavily involved” in Stephen Reid’s demise.

Stephen Reid from Coronation Street has had a busy year when he first returned to Weatherfield and killed three people who got in his way.

Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce’s) leaving from Coronation Street has been confirmed by David Platt actor Jack P Shepherd, who also acknowledged that he believes his character is “heavily involved.”

Stephen has so far been successful in hiding his tracks after killing Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost), Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin), and Rufus Donahue.

However, since he and his mother Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) recognised he was attempting to con her, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duittine) has been keeping a careful check on him.

Carla Connor (Alison King) and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) had their concerns about Stephen after he LSD-doped her.

Stephen’s rant of the past year is about to come to an end, and Jack admits that he believes he will be responsible for his uncle’s capture and demise.

When asked about Stephen’s future, he told Digital Spy that “things are getting on top of him and people are starting to find out.”

“And even though I haven’t read it yet, I believe I’m extremely invested in it! I’ve heard that I am. I’ve been told I’m in it, which is always flattering.

“I want to know how it turns out. If Uncle Stephen does have to move out permanently, it will be terrible since it is always sad to lose a Platt.

He has killed people and done a lot of awful things, so hopefully he just gets caught or something.

Jack continued by delving into their past and how Stephen’s decision to take Sarah Barlow (Tina O’Brien) to Milan instead of him caused a rift in their relationship.

I think one of the reasons David hasn’t been involved in the plot thus far is that he and Stephen have a past, he continued.

“Stephen was the one who assured David that he would travel with him to Milan so he could work in a garment factory there.

“Since David ruined Sarah’s wedding, Stephen ended up with Sarah as retribution. Because of that, David has always hated Stephen, and their relationship has never been warm.

“The fact that he hasn’t had many scenes with him has probably saved David’s life because they don’t speak much to one another. They have always maintained a distance.

But I am quite certain that David will be the first to say, “I always knew!” when the information is eventually revealed.

Will Stephen’s own family be the ones to catch him? Will Stephen try to intimidate David into remaining silent if David learns of his uncle’s behaviour?
