Does Stephen murder Jenny and get away from Weatherfield in Coronation Street?

After Jenny foiled partner Stephen’s attempt to flee the country, viewers of Coronation Street tonight are concerned about Jenny.

Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) had been blissfully ignorant of Stephen’s (Todd Boyce) activities for the preceding year, including drugging Carla (Alison King), committing three (maybe four) murders, and taking equity from his mother Audrey’s (Sue Nicholls) home.

Carla had reported her suspicions to DC Swain after discovering that Stephen had given her an LSD dosage, which may have caused a breakdown that prompted her to seek therapy.

She urged Carla not to tell Stephen that they were on to him, even though she acknowledged that she believed her. Without concrete evidence, they were unable to take any action.

Carla begged Jenny not to move with Stephen to Thailand after learning of his plans and detailing what he had done to her.

Jenny, who was still feeling the sting of Carla’s warning, asked Stephen if they might postpone their move to Bangkok for an additional few weeks. Though he consented, Stephen was actually heartbroken since he knew he would have to leave Jenny, the love of his life, behind the very next day.

In the episode airing tonight, Jenny’s misgivings about Stephen were confirmed when he recommended that, in order to prepare for the relocation, they shift their savings into a Thai bank account.

Jenny, fighting back the tears, seemed to take Stephen’s promise to think it over and figure out that, after all, he was just seeking her money.

Since Jenny was still holding out, Stephen focused on the Underworld accounts without noticing that Carla had already blocked his access code.

After fooling Michael (Ryan Russell) into giving him his access code through a fictitious phone conversation to Carla, Stephen was able to move the whole £250,000 worth of Underworld’s funds into his own account. When Carla saw in her notification that the account was now empty, she was shocked.

Meanwhile, Sally (Sally Dynevor) eventually came to the realization that her husband Tim (Joe Duttine) had actually gone missing instead of skipping their wedding anniversary celebrations to attend the county match with Kevin.

Sally has no idea that Tim, whose lifeless body was last seen in the episode airing on Monday, is trapped in his taxi’s boot in the midst of the woods following Stephen’s attack.

Naturally, Sally was concerned when she heard that a body was being pulled out of the canal, so she hurried down there with Tim’s mother Elaine (Paula Wilcox) and Gail (Helen Worth).

Gail’s mind was racing when she noticed that the roofbox she could see on the towpath resembled Stephen’s old one, even if they were unable to obtain any more information.

DC Swain advised Peter (Chris Gascoyne) not to confront Stephen about drugging Carla, but Peter (Chris Gascoyne) couldn’t resist, and the two got into a fight in Stephen’s old Redbank apartment.

Stephen was stretched out across the coffee table, about to hit Peter with an award that had dropped to the ground, when Audrey arrived and brought him down.

Audrey gave Peter the order to depart before confronting Stephen about the money he had taken from her.

Sue Nicholls says, “Even though she is upset with Stephen personally, she doesn’t know why Peter is attacking him.” “I am positive that Peter would have killed him if she hadn’t arrived.

When Audrey notices Peter acting aggressively toward Stephen, she orders him to stop talking. Stephen expresses relief upon her arrival, but she quickly clarifies that she is seeking clarification and is aware of the funds.

Stephen acknowledged removing the equity from her home and said he intended to reimburse Audrey, but he later asserted he was entitled to it because Audrey had given him up for adoption.

Sue continues, “She is shocked, he says he has always felt abandoned and has felt the need to prove himself.” Audrey tries to explain, but in the upcoming weeks, those remarks are going to truly get to her. He has been extremely vicious since he is aware of what he did, knows the truth will be revealed, and knows that his mother will bear the brunt of his guilt.

Though Audrey remained in his way of leaving, we were left to worry if Stephen would be forced to hurt her in order to get away. Stephen was not in the mood for further small talk.

As for the rest of the Platt family, they were beginning to suspect that Stephen might have killed Leo, Teddy, and Rufus. When they finally discovered Audrey hiding in the salon, distraught over what she had “caused” her son to become, they informed her of their suspicions.

Sally’s blood ran cold when Elaine informed her that Stephen appeared to have bumped off everybody who stood in his way. Tim would constantly obstruct Stephen!

DS Swain alerted the airport police and hurried to the terminal upon learning that Stephen had a reservation on a flight from Manchester airport to Thailand that afternoon. But Stephen was ahead of schedule when he got off his taxi at Liverpool’s John Lennon airport and headed to purchase a ticket for Amsterdam, which was leaving in an hour, along with a ticket to Cambodia.

Stephen was shocked to discover that his passport wallet was empty when he gave it to the check-in agent! There’s only one person who could have taken it out in the meanwhile, and it was undoubtedly in there when he last checked Rita’s flat.

Jenny said goodbye to Roy (David Neilson) at the end of the episode, smashing his “bad news quiche,” while an enraged Stephen stood nearby in the shadows.

Could Stephen get so desperate that he had to harm Jenny in order to get away?

The description for this Friday’s episode of Corrie states, “As the shocked residents realise that they have a murderer in their midst the hunt is on to find Stephen before he can add to his death toll – or are they too late?” Although details about the show’s last installment for Super Soap Week are remain under wraps.
