Star-struck, Eastenders actress Shona McGarty revealed that Daniel O’Donnell’s picture hung next to the Sacred Heart in her childhood home when she joined him on the Late Late Show tonight.
The actress, who plays Whitney Dean in the BBC drama, was thrilled to be sharing the stage with the Donegal crooner. Her mother’s side of the family is Irish.
“I really listened to Daniel’s music growing up,” she said to broadcaster Patrick Kielty. Daniel was pictured next to a picture of the Sacred Heart that we genuinely have. And they had not changed at all.

“Mum’s family was from Tipp and Wexford, and dad’s family was from Limerick and Leitrim. She sat next to Daniel and added, “I’m sure they’re watching now, and if they were, they would be so very pleased and delighted.
Shona responded, “Honestly, Daniel is the most hard-working person, especially in this industry, it can be so difficult,” when Patrick Kielty asked her about her experience working with her hero.
“He is an icon and a legend. And to even be seated next to him is an honor,” she exclaimed. “Daniel is such a kind and fantastic person. I never saw myself sitting here.
