Actor Shane Richie, who plays Alfie Moon in EastEnders, has hinted at a significant turn that “upends” his character’s world when he is startled by what another Walford resident does.
On the BBC soap opera EastEnders, Shane Richie has hinted at an upcoming event that would completely upend the world of his character, Alfie Moon.
Despite recent turmoil and heartbreak for the soap opera favorite, it appears to be in a positive way. Shane hinted that Alfie won’t be able to handle whatever that happens next week since he doesn’t see it coming.
As viewers’ dreams of a reunion between a previous legendary pair continue to build, it may be a game-changer for both the character and the program. Next week’s spoilers indicate that when Kat Slater is having problems with their teenage son Tommy Moon, she goes to her ex-boyfriend Alfie for support.
Kat is anxious to reclaim her kid after Tommy’s abuse of her and his family, including his younger siblings, led to his expulsion from the family home. Freddie Slater observes that despite their long separation, the couple has a clear connection, suggesting that despite the turmoil, there may be a brief period of joy for them.
When Alfie and Kat got married in 2003, they were THE soap opera coupling of the time. Along the road, they have had several separations and betrayals, as well as the occasional reunion as they continue to be attracted back together.

But might the two finally get back on track after a challenging year? Alfie’s world is “upended” by Kat’s next action, as Shane hinted.
Shane assured us that they will be kissing next week and that “Alfie didn’t see it coming at all! He notices that Kat seems a little giddy when they return, but he’s not really sure why. Kat had been telling him for weeks that they were just friends and that she didn’t feel anything for him, so he didn’t know.
“Alfie has come to terms with the fact that they will just cohabitate as parents and raise their children as friends. However, it completely throws Alfie’s world upside down when Kat kisses him, and she does it the same way she used to kiss Alfie.
He hinted at the possibility of a reunion, saying: “People are constantly curious about whether they are getting back together. A entire generation of people, now in their 40s, were in their late teens when Kat and Alfie first started dating.
“Kat and Alfie, who are now in their 40s, were the preferred pair when they were growing up. They may be thrilled that this wonderful love tale is resurfacing because they have discovered their own Kat or Alfie. “Watch this space because there will be fireworks,” I simply remark.
