In only a few weeks, Teddy’s ex-wife will move into the Square, introducing a new inhabitant to Walford, according to the BBC.
Actress Laura Doddington has been cast by BBC executives as Teddy’s ex-partner Nicola Mitchell.
Posing next to the recognizable Albert Square sign in a black-and-white ensemble, the character gave viewers their first glimpse on the broadcast.

When she unexpectedly shows up to deal with Teddy in the fall, she will make her debut as the newest matriarch of the Mitchell family.
Devoted viewers of EastEnders have been in shock at her uncanny likeness to another Walford legend ever since the release of her new cast teaser.
Because of her vintage hairstyle, many viewers have claimed that she looks like a Sharon Watts from the 1980s.
Fans were quite aback by how identical they looked.
One admirer wrote: “OMG why did I think this was Sharon in classic EE lmaooo” in a comment on X.
Someone else said, “She’s giving 1985 Sharon.”

In agreement, a third individual wrote: “Not just me right? She resembles Sharon, I think.
“She looks a bit like young Sharon?” wrote a fourth person.
Another person joked, “I just know I’m going to be obsessed with this woman,” as a result.
As she meets the other Mitchells and makes an effort to mend fences with sons Harry and Barney, Nicola makes a strong impression in scenes to come.
Teddy won’t be pleased that Nicola is moving into his new neighborhood. Nicola, on the other hand, isn’t going to back down, Teddy or not.
Actress Laura is not new to soap operas; she has starred in Holby City, The Midwich Cuckoos, and Doctors.
Her filming has already begun, and it is scheduled to premiere in late October.

“Nicola is feisty, strong, and loves her family, like all the great Mitchell women,” said Chris Clenshaw, executive producer of EastEnders.
It will be interesting to investigate her tangled past with Teddy and her ties with her two sons.
Laura Doddington stated of her new position: “I keep pinching myself because I still can’t believe I joined EastEnders!
“I was like a kid at Christmas the first time I filmed in The Vic because I grew up watching the show and I was excited to be in such a famous location with such a talented cast and crew.”
“Nicola exudes complexity and resembles the Tasmanian Devil when she walks in! She is a strong woman who doesn’t even try to hide who she is.”
