Three weeks after her birthday, Sylvia Syms, who portrayed Olive Woodhouse in EastEnders, passed away in January 2023 at the age of 89, leaving behind a £1.43 million inheritance.

In her will, EastEnders actress Sylvia Syms, who sadly died at the start of last year, left more than a million pounds.

Just three weeks after her birthday, the BAFTA-nominated actress passed away in January 2023 at the age of 89. She was most known for her appearances in At Home with the Braithwaites and Peak Practice, as well as her depiction of Olive Woodhouse in the BBC serial opera from 2007 to 2010.

From the middle of the 1950s until the middle of the 1960s, Sylvia, who is often referred to as the Grand Dame of British Cinema, had a prosperous cinematic career.

She left an amazing £1.43 million wealth when she passed away, some of which was given to charities and acting schools.

After passing away, an EastEnders star left a sizable estate.

Her two children, Ben and Beatie, who have both followed professions in entertainment like their mother, received the most of the money.

Now that information about her has been made public, it is clear that Sylvia gave £2,000 to the charities Intermission and Age UK and £5,000 to the London-based Royal Academy of Dramatic Art school.

As stated by The Sun: “Close friend and adviser Peter Stephens and other pals chosen by her family were also offered the chance to pick a painting from her personal collection.”

The Daily Star claims that Sylvia “died peacefully” at Denville Hall, a London care facility for those in the entertainment business, according to the Mirror.

In a heartfelt statement, the children of a cherished mother revealed her death: “Our mother, Sylvia, passed away peacefully this morning. She provided us happiness and laughter all the way to the end of her incredible life. We were thinking back on all of our travels just yesterday.

“We shall miss her terribly. We also want to use this occasion to express our gratitude to the whole staff at Denville Hall for providing our mother with such wonderful care over the past 12 months.

On behalf of the program, an EastEnders representative paid respect to the late star Syms, posting: “We are very sorry to learn of Sylvia Syms’s passing. Our thoughts and affection are with Sylvia’s friends and family.

In her 2017 interview with Mirror, the deceased actress shared her concerns about growing older and the way her world changed while she was alive.

She made some scathing comments on how Brexit might affect healthcare: “All of the nurses were European when I was last admitted to the hospital in 2014 for pneumonia.

However, as a result of Brexit, they are now all giving it up.There is no doubt that a crisis is approaching in the medical field. I’m afraid I’ll become sick now and have to visit the hospital.”

The amount of young people who have completed all of this training is what really worries me, she said, speaking to the difficulties encountered by carers.

“They have to drive across a metropolis to visit the next person after spending ten minutes with someone to throw on some toast.

“It’s awful. Furthermore, they refuse to pay appropriately, which is a dumb move. Those who work in the elderly care facilities receive pitiful wages. Therefore, do you think they’ll give a damn?
