Next week on the BBC soap opera EastEnders, tensions are expected to mount for many characters, including a double death twist.
Residents are in shock over a terrible death that has surfaced in the context of a new suicide narrative. And there’s the potential truth about a recent murder, as a new lead may turn everything around.
In the midst of a fresh mental health narrative, one character is acting strangely once more, raising concerns for her welfare. Two characters return in order to investigate a recent death, while one character is still incarcerated.
From the looks of the teasers, it looks like Walford is in for another exciting week. The following are the main storylines that will be developing on the BBC soap opera next week; there will undoubtedly be many more rumbling on.
Death-plot
Yolande Trueman experiences a heartbreaking turn of events as she awaits justice following her trauma with sexual assault. Before she reported her attacker, the character was abused earlier this year by Pastor Clayton, a person she trusted.
Next week, after learning that another lady has come forward in the case against Pastor Clayton, Stella, his wife, tries to get her to retract her statement. Yolande is eager to impart some hard realities, but when Clayton unexpectedly shows up at her house and forces his way in, she becomes afraid.
He attempts to make her retract her allegation, but he breaks down when he realizes Yolande won’t follow his instructions. He finally departs when Denzel shows there and escorts him out. However, Yolande discovers a terrible truth when the police show there and establish that Pastor Clayton committed suicide, just as she is beginning to gather strength from resisting her assailant.
Debbie’s killer ‘revealed
According to recent teasers, there’s a surprise when Debbie reveals information about a spirit from beyond the dead. Given that one character is motivated to establish his guilt following the finding, it may ultimately reveal the identity of the murderer, Reiss Colwell.
After scenes seemingly showing Reiss killing his wife, there is speculation that he is not Debbie’s murderer. However, spoilers may ultimately reveal the whole truth. Sonia Fowler, his fiancée, was imprisoned after being charged with the crime; he chose not to confess to her in order to secure her release.
However, when Debbie’s will reading happens next week, it could be beyond his control. Given that Debbie had been in a coma for a considerable amount of time, it is possible that she made certain demands before her stroke or before her death, as the attorney reveals when they read from her will.
Do her demands, which make several characters gasp, reveal the real Reiss and the circumstances behind her death?
Bianca in turmoil and a double return
Following some odd behavior, Bianca Jackson’s mental health continues to raise concerns. She is determined to coerce Reiss into confessing to the murder of his ex-wife Debbie, for which her sister Sonia is presently serving a jail sentence.
Reiss begs Bianca to leave as Debbie’s distraught parents come with the solicitor to go over the details of her will. Though she listens in covert, she is taken aback by Debbie’s demands.
She’s now even more driven to uncover Reiss’s true intentions and get a confession on tape, but will she cause more harm than good? The contents of the will only serve to strengthen her already strong belief that Reiss is the true murderer, leading her to pursue Debbie’s parents.
Bianca learns details about their marriage and goes to the taxi stand to talk to Kat about her misgivings. She’s planning to get Reiss to confess in writing soon, but will he do so and is Bianca in danger?
