Yolande was informed last week that the case against the pastor for sexual assault had been reinforced by the admission of a third woman who had come forward with claims about him.
Stella, the pastor’s wife, confronted Yolande in the community center and demanded that she take back her comments. However, Yolande helped Stella realize the full extent of her husband’s actions.
Yolande was scared when Pastor Clayton himself stormed into her home later on, claiming to want to talk to her.
In today’s episode, Yolande was informed by the pastor that his wife had packed up and left him due to their previous chat.
Feeling that she had ruined his marriage, career, and reputation, he was enraged with her and begged her to retract her testimony and “repent” in the hopes that the other women would do the same.
The pastor tried to make her feel bad about the town no longer having a religion leader, but a scared Yolande threatened to contact the police.
Though Kim and Howie convinced him to stay for another drink, Patrick was eager to visit Yolande after leaving The Vic.
Yolande was being pressured by the pastor to take back her statement, but she was laughing in his face and calling him a liar.
She spoke up for herself in a very moving sequence, sharing how his sexual attack had changed her and even suggesting that it would have been preferable if he had murdered her.
As the pastor started to seem bad about his behavior, Denzel got home and instructed him to leave the house.
When they learned what had transpired with the pastor when they got home, Patrick, Kim, and Howie were astounded as well, but they were relieved that Yolande had stuck to her guns.
The family spent the evening together, but later on as they were all getting ready for bed, the cops paid them a visit.
The officer stated, “We wanted to let you know before it becomes public knowledge.” “Gideon Clayton took his own life earlier this evening.”
