On Friday night, Moira Barton learned the truth about what Cain Dingle and Caleb Milligan had been up to at Wylie’s Farm.
Following Moira Barton’s (Natalie J. Robb) response, Emmerdale viewers are confident they have identified the hostage that Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) and Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) have been holding.
Moira was eager to find out the truth on Friday because she could tell Cain had lied to her about doing business with Caleb.
She followed Cain to Wylie’s Farm in the action-packed episode and startled him with her irritated presence.
He refused to reveal what he had been up to or who was inside a barn that had been nailed shut, despite her demands for explanations.
However, Moira forced her way into a room to discover someone being held hostage because she was driven to find out what her husband had been concealing.
The fact that Moira reacted as she did indicated how well she knew the person who was restrained, and the episode ended on a cliffhanger.
Fans quickly posted their theories on social media, with many speculating that the captive was Moira’s son Adam Barton (Adam Thomas).
“Moira looked pleasantly surprised to see the “hostage,” so I’m assuming it’s a surprise appearance for Adam,” wrote Laura. They would have to hide him because he fled on the run from the law. (sic)
Another supporter by the name of Sulagna wrote: “Could it be Adam? #emmerdale.”
Anne Mackle said, “I thought it was Adam and Cain had sneaked him back into the country, but he wouldn’t have been banging to get out as he was last night.”
Stuart continued: “I reckon it’s Adam they are hiding in the old barn. #emmerdale.” (sic)
Nevertheless, Kelly stated: “Can’t be Adam because Moira would be shocked to see him and she went ‘You’ so I’m guessing maybe Aaron but I have no idea why Cain and Caleb would keep him locked up after everything he’s been through.”
Adam’s most recent episode, which was broadcast in 2018, showed him traveling to Budapest, Hungary, where he began to rebuild his life.
