EXCLUSIVE: The recent appearance of Jai Sharma’s real father Amit, who had many questions to answer after betraying both of his sons, rocked Emmerdale.
Fans of Emmerdale appear to believe they have figured out how Rishi Sharma, who is played by Bhasker Patel, actually passed away and that his brother Amit, who is played by Anil Goutam, had something to do with it.
The newcomer moved into the community earlier this week, and the actor who plays him teased that Amit has a “dark side” in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk and other media.
“I am really pleased with how it’s written because there are lots of complexities with this guy,” Anil said.
You’ve only seen one side of him, but I suppose he is the kind of person who can… He has a darker side to him, but not in his own mind.
He takes the measures he takes to protect his family because he believes they are the best ones to take. And I believe he is capable of persuading himself that anything is right.
According to ITV’s official spoilers, Amit is secretly happy when Suni asks him to remain in the nation, but the chef is shocked by Amit’s attempts to use emotional blackmail on him.
Suni confides in Nicky (Lewis Cope), his boyfriend, however, and is shocked when Nicky hears Amit’s secret.
Later, Suni is tingling with unease as Amit tries to play happy families with them all, and Jai (Chris Bisson) is wary of Amit as he recalls old tales.
When Suni learns that Caleb and Amit are scheduled to have dinner the following day, she becomes concerned. While Caleb and Nicky ascend to Holdgate, Nicky is uneasy.
As they meet for dinner, Caleb and Amit assess each other, and Nicky and Suni exchange glances in the hopes that certain things won’t be revealed.
While eating together, Caleb, Suni, Amit, and Nicky argue a little with each other about their respective sons.
When Amit questions Nicky about his relationship with Gabby (Rosie Bentham), Nicky is taken aback. As Caleb and Nicky rush out of the room, the atmosphere becomes icy.
Caleb is intrigued when Nicky suggests that Amit might be hiding some skeletons in his closet, while Suni is less than pleased with his father.
However, since Amit moved into the village, fans have harbored their own suspicions about him, with many speculating that Amit murdered his brother.

Amit appeared to have seen a ghost when he arrived at Rishi’s home, continued @ TM_88x. #Emmerdale What if he had been present when Rishi passed away?
