Sonny (Maurice Benard) on General Hospital is having a hard time getting by these days. First, he discovers that Nina (Cynthia Watros) has been deceiving him about handing up Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Mathison). Sonny then learns that Michael (Chad Duell) paid Dex (Evan Hofer) to hunt him down at first, but that Michael later paid Dex to watch out for Sonny. Even worse, Sonny learns that his best buddy and lifelong associate Jason (Steve Burton) might have been involved in Dante’s (Dominic Zamprogna) shooting death on the dock.
Sonny may face yet another serious threat in the form of his buddy and police commissioner, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), despite the fact that he is still the target of someone’s murderous intentions.

After Josslyn (Eden McCoy) rejected him in the General Hospital episode that aired on March 19, Dex made the decision to open up. He went looking for Anna and admitted to trying to kill her. Dex went on to say that Cyrus (Jeff Kober) was in the hospital following a beating at the hands of the mob leader, and that Sonny had given him the order to kill him. (Watchers will remember that Sonny canceled the hit before it was too late because he believed that killing Cyrus was the only way to keep him silent during an assault prosecution.)
Additionally, Dex disclosed to Anna that Sonny and Pikeman were partners in the transportation of firearm shipments, and that Dex, as Sonny’s employee, possesses extensive knowledge of Sonny’s illicit activities.
All of what Anna had heard had startled her, but she was certain that she did not plan to take Dex into custody for anything he had confessed. Right now, she thought Dex was telling the truth without any supporting proof that he had committed the atrocities or that Sonny had given him the order to carry out the dirty work. She came to the conclusion that arresting Dex would ultimately result in his death because Sonny or another person would try to kill him.

As they came to an end, Dex assured Anna that he would be more than happy to assist her in any future efforts to place Sonny under jail for his illegal actions. Will Anna choose to pursue the man she now regards as a close friend, and will she enlist Dex’s help in doing so? We believe that.
The following teaser for the episode, which premieres on March 20, features Anna angrily telling Adam Harrington’s character John ‘Jagger’ Cates, “I see Sonny very clearly now.” Given that Jagger is an FBI agent and Sonny’s adversary, it seems from Anna’s statement that she wants to work with Jagger to help Sonny get off his illegal high horse.
Sonny might use someone in his corner now more than ever if Anna is truly intent on locking him up. Currently distracted by his own mess and with Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) assigned to assist him, Jason is unable to rely on his normal group of allies to repel law enforcement raids. Even though he currently has Ava (Maura West), may he perhaps find legal support in Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn)?
It would make for exciting daytime TV if Sonny became Alexis’s client again, as he once was years ago, since she is about to reclaim her legal license to practice law.
