Spoilers for General Hospital reveal Ava Jerome (Maura West) promised to help her broken marriage to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros), her supposed best friend.

There is only one issue. Not only does Sonny have no interest in interacting with his soon-to-be ex-wife, but he’s also beginning to express interest in Ava!

Ava may believe that putting herself in the middle of the couple as a marital arbitrator will help her ignore her own growing feelings for the mafia boss, but she is deluding both herself and Nina.

Ava is going to step back from her relationship with the infamous gangster since she feels bad about the embrace she had with Sonny in the hospital chapel. In addition, Nina made several excellent points. Sonny works in a hazardous field.

Ava left the mob a long time ago because she didn’t want to be a working mother and lady in that environment. Even though she was co-parenting with a well-known mobster, she just wanted a reasonably regular life for herself.

Sonny will undoubtedly notice that she is less afraid of the peril in Sonny’s world than she is of being his new bedfellow.

When Ava most needs it, her rationality will seem to fly out the window for a lady who has been telling Nina for a few years how well she understands Sonny’s workings. Nothing pleases Sonny more than a woman who always seems to be just a bit out of reach.

He and Ava’s chemistry will only get stronger, and he won’t let up on his desire to investigate the growing tension in their immediate environment.

Sonny’s involvement in this cat and mouse game is likely to persist as Ava distances herself from him. And it’s always his girl, the mob leader.

We can all see where this is headed. It looks like Sonny and Ava are about to take their romance to a whole new level. Honestly, not many fans are complaining. A power couple in the mafia collaborating to take over Port Charles? Why not?

Ava can’t help but notice that she seems to enjoy the thought of returning to that world—but more for the power than the risk.

Sonny is still able to keep her safe, but when Nina finds out that Ava has been playing both sides of the fence, nothing will be able to shield her from her wrath.
