General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) is having some career doubts. Although she willingly took over the Deputy Mayor’s position at Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) requests, she realizes she’d rather be out catching bad guys!
General Hospital Spoilers: Paper Pushing Isn’t As Fun As Perp Pursuit
Jordan’s contribution to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) search for the shooter at the Metro Court Pool was halted, despite the fact that she was more actively involved.
She had started the case at the request of Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), who wanted to know whose bullet had left him handicapped, but the FBI rushed in and effectively took control.
Even if there are still conflicts, Anna accepted the position of police commissioner that had been offered to her in order to avoid being viewed as a civilian and to continue working the case.
However, Jordan is not allowed to be involved at all since John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) views her as a civilian, and she doesn’t like it!
Cates’ reluctance to enlist the PCPD in the investigation and his unwillingness to provide information are the main causes of Anna’s ongoing arguments with him!
GH Spoilers: Jordan Ashford’s Quickly Becoming Bored With Her Job
Jordan is getting tired of her work fast since pushing papers isn’t as exciting as pursuing a criminal; she’s involved in all the mayor-related activities.
However, she misses the excitement of pursuing an offender and the fulfillment that comes with bringing them to justice, and she can’t receive much of either when working behind a desk.
In essence, she serves as Laura’s go-to person for mayor duties when Laura is unavailable. This includes noting documents, officiating events, and other similar tasks, as well as assisting Laura with tasks that require attention.

After serving as a police commissioner or DEA agent for years, Jordan yearns for action once more, albeit she doesn’t yearn for the same circumstances that she encountered with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
General Hospital Spoilers: Jordan Ashford Is Stuck For A Term
But just like the mayor, the deputy mayor also has a term to serve, and Jordan is essentially taking over the deputy mayor’s vacant position.
Jordan will endure it till the end of her term, even though it will make her bored and restless in the process. She still retains the power to make arrests as necessary, but this isn’t her primary duty; instead, she handles anything the mayor can handle while the mayor isn’t there.
She wants law and order and justice, not danger, therefore that is one thing she is not and will never allow herself to become. She vowed never to willingly put herself or her family in risk again.
