Orpheus Pledger, who starred in Home and Away, was able to successfully appeal a seven-month term and was released from prison.

The 31-year-old admitted to attacking a woman twice earlier this year and was given a seven-month prison sentence in August. Following their shared concerns about his drug usage and mental health, the soap actor was spotted stamping on the woman’s head in a vicious attack.

Another footage of the horrifying event showed Orpheus striking and kicking the victim. After pulling her to the ground, he stomped on her face after dragging her by her hair in a second attack.

However, Orpheus was granted permission to leave jail on appeal just three months after receiving his sentence. He had already served enough time, according to a judge in the County Court of Victoria.

On April 22, the actor, who previously starred in Neighbours, was taken into custody and released on bond. At the time, a mental health evaluation was mandated for him.

But the following morning, he fled the hospital, leading to a three-day manhunt before he was apprehended again.

Additionally, after being informed of “worrying behavioural signs” from Orpheus’ time on bail, Judge Michael Tinney permitted the disgraced actor’s release this week. He was accused of missing several appointments and exhibiting altered behavior, such as excessive talking, grandiosity, exhilaration, and self-adjusting his medicine.

Orpheus has denied using narcotics again, but he hasn’t been examined. Additionally, a psychiatrist had determined that the actor had a higher chance of reoffending in the event of a relapse.

Jonathan Barrera, his attorney, contended that his client ought to be freed on a community corrections order as he had already completed 97 days in pre-sentence detention. He contended that he should be released early due to his early guilty plea and little criminal background.

Judge Tinney concurred, resentencing Orpheus to a two-year community corrections term and 97 days in jail, already served. In accordance with the judgment, he must undergo drug and mental health treatment and perform 150 hours of unpaid community service.
