Shane Withington from Home and Away just joined Instagram, and to be honest, we’re not sure how the rest of us got by without him for this long. The actor has already established himself on social media, starting with his Instagram debut using a photo from the 2024 Logies with the message “#bratsummer is here and so am I!” and going back in time to his A Country Practice days.
It’s difficult to picture the beach or surf club without Shane, who has been a mainstay in the Bay since 2009 when he played John Palmer on Home and Away. In an apparent reference to Irene’s return to the serial opera following Lynne McGranger’s hiatus, Shane recently shared a photo of herself with co-stars Ada Nicodemou and McGranger.
Actors Kirsty Marillier and Luke Van Os, who portray the siblings Rose and Xander, have been linked to rumors that they would be quitting the program as their three-year contracts are about to expire.
Particularly Kirsty has a packed itinerary for 2025. From February 17 to April 5, 2025, she and Olivia DeJonge will be featured in Picnic at Hanging Rock at the Sydney Opera House. In addition, she will be the lead actress in a brand-new drama that she wrote, Destiny, which will run at Melbourne’s Southbank Theatre from August 18 to September 13.
Due to her hectic schedule, it appeared that her other obligations would allude to her leaving the well-liked soap opera and the conclusion of Rose’s romance plot with Mali.
But according to a recent photo posted by Shane, Kirsty/Rose is still holding down the fort in Summer Bay, which is encouraging in a community this little with so much crime. We need at least one cop in this town to be paying attention, especially with Cash acting so strangely since Felicity’s death. Someone has to be doing the difficult job.
Shane wrote, “Another phabulous day in the land of no logic,” as the picture’s caption.
One fan surmised that the image might be an old shot meant to confuse people after it was posted in a Home and Away Facebook fan club, but another user said they had proof that Kirsty was still filming. “I know someone that was at Palm Beach today and it’s correct, Kirsty was filming today,” they said. Another fan commented, “I would hate to see Rose go, but I love her.”
“I believe she will finish soon though as her contract is up or coming to an end, or maybe she has signed a short contract,” a another admirer said.
However, fans are still confused about what this implies for Xander’s future, so stay tuned!
