Fans of the long-running soap opera Home and Away are beginning to worry about who character will go on the death, since the show has hinted at a “shocking death” that would leave viewers speechless.
Although the departure of Felicity Newman, played by Jacqui Purvis, has been a well-kept secret for some time, fans are beginning to worry about what this implies for Felicity’s future. Felicity has undoubtedly endured enough abuse from the Home and Away writers over the years.
Felicity’s stay in the not-so-sleepy beachfront town has been nothing short of eventful, and Jacqui has been playing the role since 2021. After her brother Cash relocated to Summer Bay to work as a police officer, she moved there and transformed from a wild party animal to a lovable figure who shared a portion of Salt’s ownership. She also endured a near-fatal car accident on her wedding day, a failed marriage to Tane Parata, and numerous other ordeals such as an attack and a new relationship with a now-incarcerated River Boy.
Fans have been speculating about how Jacqui will be written out because her final scenes are expected to run at the end of August or the beginning of September. Initially, they assumed that maybe she would move away with River Boy Rory. Although the show is hinting at what appears to be a bit of a horrible tragedy for Irene, viewers are now certain Felicity will die off after watching Rory’s final scenes on the soap opera last week.
Even though we don’t yet know exactly what will happen, fans are already grieving Felicity, a figure who has caused considerable controversy over the years.
A moderator on a Home and Away fan page initiated a conversation about who will probably die off. “This isn’t ‘CONFIRMED’ we know that Jacqui (Felicity) did stop filming in March and she should be still on our screens to end of August/September,” they stated.”I know Jacqui said she would love Felicity to be killed off but we know that they always don’t get what they want.”
One user said, “I will be really sad if they kill Felicity off.” Another said, “Hopefully it’s not Flick.”
“Please do not flick,” pleaded one more enthusiast. “I know she has left Home and Away but I thought [they’d] keep a spot for a return if she chooses.”
“I sure hope Felicity didn’t get killed, just leaves after what’s happened with River Boy,” someone another commented.
One fan remarked, “I don’t think anyone’s going to die, are they?”
“All right…so perhaps Rory is incarcerated? Among the River Boys, perhaps? It might not be your typical…They’re just playing us!” surmised someone else. “Perhaps [it will be] Dingo,” an individual proposed.
None of them, I don’t think. Will it be someone with some connection to the Bay, such as a River Boy or a member of Mali’s family?” said someone else. “But not a central figure. Perhaps they’re laying the groundwork for the cliffhanger or year-end finale?”
Some, on the other hand, are simply interested in the drama and don’t really care who dies.
“How thrilling! Can’t wait,” exclaimed an admirer.
