The ‘iconic’ Colleen Smart, portrayed by Lyn Collingwood in the Australian soap opera, has been resurrected by Home and Away fans on social media. Before departing in 2012, Lyn made two appearances on the show before returning as a regular.

When someone posted a picture of Colleen on Facebook, they wrote, “‘YOOHOO! It’s only me!'” Does anyone remember Home and Away’s old chook Colleen? An impoverished man’s Morag, yet iconic nonetheless.

One person wrote, “Colleen definitely should come back,” suggesting that many others felt the same way. We need a little humor and laughter, funny lady.

“She was excellent. Another person remarked, “I wish she would return and add some spice to the show.” “Come back Colleen.”

“I used to love Colleen please bring her back and her son,” someone else begged.

“Loved Colleen, she was the no filter lady who said it as it was 😜🤣🤣 bring her back please,” another person said.

Someone else said, “Who could forget her!” Another person added, “She is missed.”

Others claimed they delighted to detest Colleen because Lyn was so good at the part.

“Loved Colleen in this show she was the best character,” a different individual stated.

During her early days on the program, Colleen was frequently seen attempting to keep her son Lance (played by Peter Vroom) out of trouble. In March 1988, she made her first appearance in Episode 36. In July 1989, she departed in Episode 350. After making a brief reappearance in 1997, she returned as a series regular in late 1999.

The Home and Away Soap Opera Wiki states that “During her time on the show she discovered that she was related to the Stewarts and accidentally burned down the Bayside Diner.” Colleen does sound iconic.

The show’s finale scenes aired in 2013, and it appears that Lyn’s last acting role was in the Australian television series Remember My Name in 2022.

She has worked as an editor of The Australian Encyclopaedia and in research, but she now prefers to live her life away from the spotlight.

Lyn earlier stated that she left the show because she had reached “a certain age.”

“You get to a certain age and you don’t know how much longer you’ll be around, quite frankly, and my memory is still quite good – I don’t know how long that’s going to last!” she stated to TV Week.

“Years ago, some conman sold her a piece of land in Queensland and it was just a bog, and I enjoyed being taken for a ride,” she said when discussing her favorite on-screen moments.

Additionally, she used to be addicted to poker machines, but it only lasted for roughly five minutes. The plane disaster, the kidnapping, and getting rattled up in the car were all enjoyable to me.
