Viewers of the Australian soap opera Home and Away have complimented a moving sequence starring Tane Parata in the terrible death plot that aired this week.

Following her unconscious fall at a party, Felicity Newman passed away. Her loved ones had to make the difficult decision to remove her life support after learning that she had a brain aneurysm and was therefore brain dead.

Tane used the haka, a traditional Māori dance, which is connected with funerals, as a way to cope with his sadness after her death. His body was a conduit for his chaotic emotions, as evidenced by the way he pounded his chest and stomped his feet.

And many were very touched by it, applauding actor Ethan Browne’s portrayal as well as the soap opera’s continued appropriation of Māori culture. After the scene was posted on the official Home and Away Instagram account, fans jumped at the chance to remark on how much they enjoyed it.

One fan remarked, “I cannot put into words how this made me feel.” “Overall, I felt sad, grateful, and emotional. We appreciate you dedicating your entire being to presenting a remarkable custom and an understanding of Māori culture on the big screen. genuinely going from the heart.”

“Oh my god, this is really tragic. “Excellent job, [Ethan Browne], you should be really proud of this work,” said one person, and “Absolutely love this, give me more of it!” exclaimed another.

Despite not having watched the soap opera, one commenter expressed their admiration for the video, saying, “WOAH, the emotion was so authentic and real.”

“You give us pride as New Zealanders!” Another admirer remarked, “This was so beautifully done!” and tagged the actor, encouraging him to “keep up the awesome work.”

A response to Felicity actor Jacqui Purvis’s farewell post thanking him for “helping create a beautiful love story” on social media, Browne praised her “thunderous energy”.

In the meantime, it has been revealed that Gary, Felicity’s foster father, will arrive as a guest in the next funeral episode.
