This week, Abigail (Hailey Pinto) almost loses all of her gains in beating her addiction as Justin’s (James Stewart) actions unintentionally lead her into a downward spiral.

Following Abby’s arrival in Summer Bay back in August, Levi (Tristan Gorey) and Eden (Stephanie Panozzo), who had not seen her for two years, were saddened to discover that their younger sister was an addict.
After noticing infected track marks on Abby’s arms, Levi had come to the conclusion. To make sure she wouldn’t do anything severe to make money, Levi reluctantly handed Abby some money for her next hit because she was refusing to have any treatment other than for the infection.

He only agreed to let her go back to their mother’s house in the city, but Abby ended up crashing at her dealer Dom’s place instead.
Abby called Levi in a panic, forcing Levi and Eden to take over. When Abby discovered that Dom’s house doubled as a brothel, he would not allow her go and insisted that she pay off her debt by having sex with some of his customers.

Fortunately, Abby was found by Levi and Eden before she was hurt, and she eventually acknowledged that she needed their assistance to permanently stop using narcotics.
But Abby insisted on going cold turkey and continued to refuse to go to any kind of rehabilitation. Abby endured a difficult couple of days while Levi and Eden slept with her in a motel room, but she eventually made it through.
Later, Abby consented to see Tim (George Pullar), a counselor, but after he and Eden had an affair, things didn’t work out.

For Abby’s sake, Eden decided to end their relationship because the two were aware that they had entered an ethical nightmare. But Tim chose to quit as Abby’s counselor nevertheless, which grieved Abby.
Tim and Eden quickly reconciled, and when Abby learned about their relationship, it became evident why Tim had left her.
Abby attacked Eden for just considering herself, dealing another severe damage to the siblings’ already shaky bond.

When Abby wanted to leave the bay for the afternoon after the revelation, she turned to Theo (played by Matt Evans), with whom she had at least been friends.
Theo wants more from Abby than just friendship, which worries Abby’s housemate and boss Mali (Kyle Shilling), who also has feelings for her.
Before figuring out that it was Abby, Theo told Justin that he had met someone he liked. Justin was worried when he later met Tim and found out that he was Abby’s counselor.

Justin knew Tim from going to one of his sessions when he was battling a prescription medication addiction. Therefore, it would seem reasonable to assume that Abby was likewise an addict.
Theo has been seeing a counselor after he briefly engaged in party drug use with Valerie (Courtney Clarke) earlier this year. Given any temptations, Justin fears that Theo could simply relapse.

After learning that Theo and Abby were going on a date, Justin went to Salt and caught Theo before Abby arrived, telling him he had something crucial to share.
According to TV Week the following week, Justin tells Theo about his worries over Abby’s questionable past, and it seems to be enough of a turnoff for Theo to call off the date.

Abby is devastated to hear that Justin’s meddling has apparently cost her one of the few good things in her life right now, as she had been looking forward to spending time with Theo.
This might be the last straw that sends Abby into a downward spiral, especially when combined with her anxiety about Tim and Eden.
Abby realizes her predicament and goes to Northern Districts Hospital to locate Levi. Instead, she finds herself in front of an open resuscitation trolley that has a supply of morphine, which seems like a serious breach in hospital security.

Hailey Pinto told TV Week, “It’s more of a survival instinct and less logical.” She is only able to concentrate on her anguish and her wish to get rid of it. She is coming to terms with the fact that she will always be judged for her past.
“This constant need for relief is driven by that painful realization, so when she sees the morphine vials, she sees a way out.”

In the meantime, Levi is at home and enlists Mali to assist him in finding Abby after learning that she is reportedly gone.
Nurse Dana (Ally Harris) quickly calls Levi to request that he come as soon as possible after spotting Abby in the hospital hallway, obviously in a horrible situation.
Will Levi be able to persuade Abby to change her mind before she regrets it?
