The following week, on Home and Away in the UK, Tane confronts her assailant and quickly steps in to save the day while Stevie battles for her life in the hospital.

The shocking shooting of Stevie Marlow (Catherine Van-Davies) in broad daylight in the middle of the beach will leave Summer Bay in disarray the following week.

While Stevie and co-star Troy Morrison (Samuel Stevenson) were filming scenes for director Nelson Giles’s (Mahesh Jadu) new romantic comedy All Our Tomorrows, Stevie’s bodyguard Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) had made a quick trip up to Salt.

Since her stalker Sidney Wickham (Joshua McElroy) was locked up weeks ago and was scheduled to go on trial this week, Stevie was not aware of any imminent threats. For no other reason than she felt secure in Cash’s company and in a business where people you can trust are hard to come by, Stevie had rehired him.

Since Cash had originally declined to be her personal security because she didn’t want to leave Eden (Stephanie Panozzo) at Summer Bay alone, Stevie had persuaded Nelson and the producers to relocate the entire production to the town.

But in an instant, Cash’s world turned upside down when he got a call from his superiors that left him cold. It had just dawned on them that Sidney had been freed from jail.

Cash hurried down to the shore when he realized Stevie might be in danger, but it was too late. A shot sounded out across the beach, sending Stevie tumbling into Cash’s arms. A sniper amid the bushes was already lining up his target.

Next week, when we revisit the situation, Alf (Ray Meagher) is perplexed by the flurry of individuals who are running up to the surf club.

A departing Troy informs him that there is a shooter on the loose, so Alf calls for help while telling everyone to go inside.

While they wait for the paramedics, Cash embraces Stevie on the beach. They’re sitting ducks where they are, so Nelson believes they should bring her up to the surf club, but Cash knows it might cause much more harm.

Stevie tells Cash that he should go too, but he won’t leave her side as Cash instructs Nelson to walk up to the club by himself.

Stevie tells Cash she’s afraid as the sirens approach, and he tries to persuade her out of it, but finally Stevie passes out.

Juliet Godwin’s character Bree has been notified that there is an impending gunshot wound at Northern Districts. However, Bree hesitate for a second when paramedic Carla (Jennifer Rani) hands Stevie over. Stevie’s condition is rapidly deteriorating, so they must act immediately.

Inside the surf club, chaos reigns as everyone tries to process what is going on.

Alf has advised everyone to stay there until the police say it’s safe to leave, and the gunman has not been seen.

Troy looks online and finds out that Sidney was freed after a mistrial when Nelson informs Alf that Stevie’s stalker must have fired the gun.

Troy continues angrily, “And he came straight here to finish what he started,” before lamenting Stevie’s involvement in their film. Before Alf is compelled to intervene, things between Nelson and Troy quickly heat up.

Cash calls Eden to let her know that the cops are swarming the bay and to advise her to stay inside. She tells Adam Rowland’s character Remi and Jamie Purvis’s character Felicity, and Remi demands to go to the hospital. When Flick gets home and locks the door, Eden follows him.

Tane (Ethan Browne), who is outside enjoying some fresh air before to his court appearance, receives a call from Flick alerting him to the presence of a gunman. Tane, of course, is the one who notices Sidney, who appears suspicious, moving quickly across the parkland while carrying a huge rifle bag.

Tane is chasing after Sidney as she clocks him and takes off running. As the call goes dead, Flick freaks out, thinking Tane is going to injure himself.

After following Sidney onto Flat Beach, Tane quickly turns around and strikes Sidney in the head with the rifle bag. Tane is (inexplicably) propelled skyward by the contact, landing on the beach with his head still clutched.

Sidney might have easily completed the task, but he chooses to continue since he believes he needs to be somewhere else.

Bree is forced to confront her ex-boyfriend as he queries whether his new love will survive as Remi dashes into the emergency department. Bree is aware that Stevie is not feeling well, so at first she is at a loss for words, but she eventually tells Remi that Stevie will be alright.

Flick makes the risky decision to go outside in search of Tane after she is unable to reach Cash. She passes past the abandoned dining cart into the eerily silent bay, and then she sees a figure resting on the neighboring shore.

Flick quickly approaches Tane, hoping for his well-being.

Tane, thankfully, awakens upon hearing Flick’s voice, and although he is bandaging a head wound, it appears he is doing well overall.

When Flick manages to get a hold of Cash, he goes to the beach to retrieve them and return them to the hospital.

However, Stevie rapidly deteriorates back in the ED, necessitating Bree to administer chest compressions. While Levi (Tristan Gorey) attempts to gently let Bree know that Stevie is gone, Bree feverishly tries to bring her back with multiple doses of adrenaline. Despite her pledge to Remi, Bree is unwilling to quit up.

Bree must regretfully inform everyone that Stevie has passed away.

Bree steels herself to break the terrible news to Remi because she believes she owes it to him to do so.

Cash is sad and exhausted when he gets home in the bay, and he has no idea that Sidney is waiting for him!
