Tammin Sursok, a former cast member of Home and Away, has shared personal details about her time there.
The 41-year-old also made the unexpected admission that she now regrets a contentious plot point that shocked Summer Bay.
The gripping story followed Tammin’s character, Dani Sutherland, as she dealt with the fallout from a horrifying sexual assault.
As the plot progressed, Tammin’s character was forced to see her on-screen sister Kirsty (played by actress Christie Hayes) get married to her rapist, Kane, who was portrayed by actor Sam Atwell.

Tammin, who portrayed Dani for four years, from 2000 to 2004, disclosed that the rape plot was double-filmed by the producers to fit the time slot.
‘Not terrific’ is how she described the outcomes.
Tammin told Yahoo Lifestyle on Friday, “What I thought was difficult was that we had to reshoot that entire two weeks because I gave too much of a realistic performance.”
“It was the first time in my career I realized that it doesn’t matter if you think you’re good, it has to matter for the whole system,” the woman continued, describing the process as “difficult.” Furthermore, what they display may not always be what you desire.
As an actor, it can be challenging because, although you may think you nailed a scene, when you watch the TV show again, you may not even recall using that awful take.
Tammin clarified that it was difficult to cope with because people witnessed something that she says, “I wasn’t as proud of,” but she did not think what ended up on TV was “crappy.”
‘Pioneers’ in addressing the subject of sexual assault, she continued, were Home and Away.

In 2001, the year the plot aired, Dani took home a Logie Award for Most Popular Female Talent.
It follows Tammin’s recent unexpected career shift when she debuted her own podcast, The Sh*t Show, which features celebs and TV stars from Australia.
After the first episode, which features a private conversation with local musician Amy Shark, was released, the former Hannah Montana actress shared the news on social media.
Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Tammin has previously created two US-focused podcasts, Pretty Little Podcast and Women on Top.
Tammin bragged about her new business in the caption of a video she posted of her first show on Instagram.
“We’re here!!!!!!” Now that The Sh*T is out, it took A LOT of work! My solo podcast features open discussions about the messy, honest, humorous, sad, and beautiful aspects of life with Australian celebrities and worldwide stars.

Tammin stated that viewers can anticipate open conversations with Candice Warner, Osher Gunsberg, Bachelor star Matty Johnson, and Seven’s Larry Emdur in a Friday interview with News.com.au.
In the meantime, Tammin said last month that she planned to publish a book in 2025.
“I’ve been writing essays and snippets about my life for almost ten years, so this is honestly a dream come true,” Tammin said.
“These revelations about my past are now becoming a book—it’s very surreal,” she added.
I’ve already talked about a lot, but there’s still a ton of information to learn. I am grateful to Pantera Press for collaborating with me. Keep an eye on this space.
